Happy 75th Birthday Jerry Lee! I'm 41 years old and first heard you sing and play when I was five. You have always been one of my musical heroes and you truly are one of the founding fathers of Rock and Roll! God Bless you Killer and thanks for so many wonderful memories!

I'm 40 years old and one of my 1st musical memories is hearing Jerry Lee Lewis singing on one of his country albums my mother had. What a ride we had Jerry, Soloman. Wouldnt take nothing for it. What a pleasure to grow old with the Killer and Soloman as well. Our aging is like a fine wine, we just better and better. All the best. Very sorry to hear of Soloman's passing. He lived his life like he sang his song, dignity and with honor. RIP.

People I gotta tell you that this man was such a big part of my life growing up. No, I didn t know him personally, just his music. He was very much a decoder of what we did as kids. I see from his guest performers that he was also a big part of their lives as well. Such a joy to see so much respect for talet and tradition. And by the way tradition doesn t hold up without reason.

Geez folks Jerry Lee Lewis has been making Records since the late 1950's. He's in his middle 70's the fact that this guy can still play the piano and sound pretty close to his old self is amazing. Listen to his new album. WHen he has a couple takes he still sounds like he did 20 years ago. Oh and if your a new fan check out the country albums he did in the 1970's some of his best stuff.

The Killer and Tom Jones. I never thought I would see them performing together. Great clip and thank you for this rockingterry. Thank you very much indeed. Two guys, JLL and Tom, from very modest upbringing, one from Ferriday, LA, and the other from Wales, UK world apart but thanks to their unique talents they became world famous. When I see this I tend to believe in the human race again. How much haven't they given us? Tom gets cooler the older he gets and the Killer, always super cool.

Whatever you think of Jerry Lee Lewis you have to admit he has now past his best, naturally. He was a great rock 'n' roller, one of the best, but had a flawed personality. I have most of his rock 'n' roll hits, including the Bear Sun Box Set and have seen him in concert many, many times. However, he could never be as famous as Elvis Presley was. Nobody could be. To call Elvis the King of Rock 'n' Roll does not do him justice as Elvis sang in virtually every musical genre available to him.
@depper16 жыл бұрын
Tom Jones was a vegas act. He was a great lounge singer.. decent blues sound in a course masculine voice. "Delilah" and "Its not Unusual" is NOT what Id call "a rocker". His highest charted single is "She's a Lady" which peaked at #2. Jerry Lee Lewis was A ROCKER. Elvis was the biggest ROCKER of them all... But Jerry Lee is special, because he's never stopped Rockin' since 1956.

Solomon passed away last October (I think) 2010 in the Amsterdam Airport. Don't know the cause. Solomon was filled with class. His style of rock/blues was right there with JLLs. I wish more folks could look past the "color" issue and take people for what they are. Lots of pure talent floating around out there.

On this day in 2006 {September 26th} the album 'Last Man Standing' by Jerry Lee Lewis was released; it peaked at #4 on Billboard's Country Albums chart and #26 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart... The album got its name because Jerry Lee was the last surviving artist from the Sun Records 1950s recording stars; Elvis, Charlie Rich, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, and Johnny Cash {who died on Sept. 12th, 2003}... And in three days on September 29th 'The Killer' will celebrate his 78th birthday

Jerry, seen him live, the greatest exponent of rock'n'roll that ever walked the earth, Elvis was great but Jerry was true, true to his musical heritage, and still playing, Nich Tosches who wrote a biography of Jerry Lee must be amazed, he expected Jerry to die shortly after writing his book but no, the killer rocks on, sorry Nick, no increse in sales yet.

I have to say this in view of other comments, Solomon Burke knocked it out...he wouldn't have been there if they didn't want him. It's beyond ridiculous to crack on him. He sang great. In any such situation the old guys respect each other (course really they're all old even Ron Wood)
