Today, Christian reviews the revamped Breitling Chronomat collection, with two watches from the new line including the B01 and the Automatic 36!
First, the "Hers" option, the Breitling Chronomat Automatic 36. While not strictly speaking a woman's watch (especially at 36mm), it was certainly positioned by the brand to be exactly that. This example, however, with its blue runburst dial and lack of any stones certainly functions as a more unisex option. The overall proportions of the watch are absolutely mind blowing in how well they work, and the bracelet is chief among these things that work so well. 18mm at the lugs themselves, it flares out to almost 20mm or so just beyond them and then tapers down from there, giving the overall design language something that feels very unique, even more than it already did.
Next, we have the Breitling Chronomat B01 42, the more traditional model in the Chronomat family. Unlike the 36, we actually have a chronograph functionality here, which is where the model originally derived its name from in the first place. That said, the B01 caliber that powers the watch does make the watch a bit chunky at 15mm in thickness. Still, at 42mm in diameter, it wears exceptionally well considering those dimensions, and for most people, this might well be a perfect watch.
