I never heard of The Villages until one of your videos popped up on KZfaq. I was looking at Arizona. Now, for health reasons, sadly I’m staying in Minnesota. However I generally am entertaining guests for much of the beautiful summer and beyond. I guess they appreciate it more than I, but they don’t have to live in our god awful winters. If you think about changing your name simply add the word “TO” at the beginning to change “TO THE VILLAGES FLORIDA NEWCOMERS”. I would be more than happy to chauffeur people around in The Villages. I do it here. If it’s a long trip, I’d appreciate gas money, but I’d do it for nothing. It would be my good deed for the day, which I strive for, even if it’s just a smile. Another great start to a beautiful Monday morning.

I am chauffeuring non driving grown kids around much too often myself and feel pretty much same of your comment. I am looking forward to someday retiring to the villages. Perhaps I can start a taxi service charging $1 or less per mile.

I agree that you should keep your “Newcomers” name …that`s how we all have come to know you and like you said, you are using your videos to help out others who will possibly become newcomers. There are others from the villages who have youtube channels and they are also “known” for a certain topic in their content. We know we can always tune into Jerry and Linda to have an array of questions answers - the highlight of my week, really!!!!

Hi Linda & Jerry, I am watching Mailbag Monday from The Villages Library at 466 and Belvedere Boulevard. To the person who asked about churches, Hope Lutheran on 466 and Morse is golf cart accessible...I went there twice during this visit. I have driven past several other churchez... St. Timothy's Catholic and St. George's Episcopal near Spanish Springs, Morth Lake Presbyterian near the Historic side, 2 churches behind d Walmart on 466.. Live Oaks Community, and Open Bible Lutheran. New Covenant United Methodist isjust north if 466 behind Southern Trace shopping center. That's just a few of the churches in and close to The Villages. As to a dog's paws getting too hot on pavement, I have seen several dogs in strollers during my visit. Good questions this week.

Definitely keep your name. I'm with you Jerry, the smoke, especially when eating is not appreciated. I have asthma, so it makes it hard to eat a meal and breathe normal. I love thrifting, so it's good to know there are treasures to be found.

That second mushroom you showed a picture of is what southerners call magic mushrooms. If you pick it and the stem turns purple, it's a phychodelic mushroom and is edible.

We use Orlando airport (MCO) often because of the airlines available. BUT occasionally we have the pleasure of using the Sanford airport (SFB), much smaller.

Trailer people..wow that question was from a snob. You would be surprised who lives in these trailers, baseball players, generals, Ivy League professors, doctors, etc. they are so smart they are not paying that big bond, CCD, and all the shopping in minutes away plus two two town squares minutes away by golf cart. Bigger lots with space so your neighbors can’t hear everything you say. Big oaks and mature trees, beautiful parks and lakes.

Actually they're not trailers. They're "mobile homes." Mobile home communities here look like regular homes, because they're on a concrete slab.

Two days ago I went to an open house for a manufactured home. $199K.. Totally updated inside; it was beautiful. No bond on the Historic Side. There are also quite a few site built homes on this Historic Side. The bond on new patio villas in Citrus Grove is $18K. Just food for thought.

Funny about mushrooms, while on the golf course and you hit a bad ball and you lose it. the ball gets camouflaged amongst the mushrooms so it is hard to find!

I used to fly in and out of Sanford from Dulles (in DC) to visit my parents in Lake Mary (not far from you). It was wonderful. Very easy. Not crowded. Often had discount flights (pre-covid; cant speak for now). Sometimes I'd take a shuttle to a hotel near their gated community in Lake Mary and they'd pick me up there. As they got into their late 80s and didnt drive as much, that made it very easy. My parents loved living in Florida. Due to the excellent medical care in the area, they lived into their 90s.

There’s nothing wrong with manufactured homes. They are very nice and built to specifications for the wind zone in which they are set. The people who live in them are just like the people living in site built-homes. No class is when people think they are better than others based on their house.

Love your show! Our move was a flip of the move you made. My brother and I are retired and when Mom died we chose to sell her big home in Gainesville. Initially, we were going to stay in Gainesville but ended up moving to Ohio where we still have some family. I loved hearing you mention the Gainesville airport and it was so great to see the grass down there. My brother hates the grass up here. Thanks again for having such a wonderful KZfaq channel. It's a bit like watching a video from home.

Allegiant Airlines flies into Sanford. It's a great airport - easy access in and out and near Rt 4 that goes right into Orlando and then on to Tampa/St. Petersburg. I highly recommend it. Not sure what other airlines come to that airport but there are others.

The Lofts Lease - I toured the Lofts when I visited in January 2021, looking for a place to stay until I bought a house. The LEASE term just CHANGED to 6 MONTHS. Garages are a rarity & $200 extra per month if one's available. Lots of add ons Added up to, I think around $2,000 per month. Definitely double check For Current info.
