If you enable USB Debugging and recognize your computer, you can turn it on without a power button by holding the volume button when you plug it in. Then, you use fastboot restart to turn on the phone. Also keep double-tap to wake on your phone to turn on the screen and an overlay that allows you to put the phone to sleep. I don't remember if you use the volume up or down, but it's the one that DOESN'T take you to the boot menu.

7:15 If you can get to the boot menu, you should be able to select the options with a USB keyboard plugged into the phone. I had to do that to recover data after a phone's buttons and touchscreen digitizer stopped working.

This was one of the most interesting and intensive teardowns so far.. i have loved opening up stuff to see how they work since i was little.. when i was 3-5 years old me and by brother used to put toy cars and stuff under out bunk bed and jump in the bed until it cracked so we could see the inside 😂😂😂🤦🏻‍♂️

They could make the air duct water-tight from the inside, making some sort of a tunnel where water could come in, go through the tunnel over the fan, and out the other way, without making any damage.. That would also make it a water-cooled phone. But more importantly, water resistant.

That would not work the fan needs the space to work properly please think of all things and the tunnel would be good if it sucked the water in otherwise it won't work and where would the water go

Every time I see one of these tear down videos I always am amazed that these devices don't cost ten times what we pay for them. For me, at least, I can't imagine the amount of time that goes into building one of these things. But then again, I am not at all tech savvy.

Very useful teardown and thanks for confirming the lack of water resistance. i did actually buy this phone and i absolutely love it. I am however gonna keep my note 10 plus as a back up in case i find myself needed some kind of water resistance.

With a little design tweak they could make the phone watertight and use any accidental water ciming through the intake and out the "propeller side as better coolant. A little splash of rain over a heatsink might improve the cooling.
