We have been waiting for a Switch update for awhile now. (Even longer for a Breath of the Wild Update, but whos complaining. Oh. Me? Indeed I am.) Nintendo has finally decided to grace us with a few Switch Updates, and they changed more than we thought! There is now METAL built into the switch! Didn't see that coming. @@mariosiroky5454 the Nintendo Switch's joy-con controllers are infamous for their stick drift issue. I can't say how many people are suffering from it, but apparently a lot of Switch owners are, and Nintendo is being uncooperative about the issue.

I dropped my switch over a concrete step and the only part that was harmed was the right joycon, and I fixed it with just brute force, so I can tell you it is way more durable than I thought

As someone who just picked up the Switch OLED yesterday (first Nintendo I've had since the Gamecube lol) I'm still very much in that hyper protective stage and this physically hurt to watch lol. But thank you for the sacrifice. At least I know my system is pretty durable.

It’s unfortunate that the joycons haven’t been improved. They’re where most of the improvements can be made in my opinion. Repairing these for a while the common failure points are: - the joystick internals (of course) - the flex of the housing underneath the triggers, causing a separation over time - the feel of the controls themselves - enough upward force on the joycon wears down the plastic nub responsible for retaining the joycon. Would like to see this made out of metal.

There's a reason why the nubs are made of plastic instead of metal. It's so that if if you (or your kids) drops it it won't damage the "rails" on it [the main body] I know it's infuriating but it can't be helped. As for the comfort of the Joycon, there are some pretty cheap rubber protectors which also comes with covers for the control sticks that make the mold of the Joycon much more comfortable holding them as a pair (although I do agree that when using the controller sideways is still uncomfortable due to how awkward the button and control stick placement is.

The joy con internals have been changed. They have a rubber foam to help with drift, along with harder plastic. The joycon feel is mildly different, though your other points are valid.

The switch oled actually comes with a layer of screen protector but its to protect the actual oled screen (from cracking) and ur not meant to remove it so if u were to install another screen protector (recommended to do so), you would just put it over the preinstalled one

Wow 5 years later and Nintendo has done jack shit to fix the issue even after getting sued 40 billion time for it. Nintendo makes no sense and the only reason why they get away with this is because Nintendo fanboy fetuses still buy hardware that barely functions. Nintendo is one of the worst companies to ever exist buy a different console that actually has good hardware that does not fuck over the gameplay.
