Reminds me of bachelor life in Provo, pulling a transmission to tighten up flywheel bolts in a student parking garage in the dead of winter.... Or using the clearance bar and a ratchet strap to replace the motor mount on my '87 toyota pickup. It's so nice to have a garage now!

Ya, I wondered how necessary the spacers were when i was putting them in. Your way works just as well i bet.

just a quick note, if someone happens to buy one of these second hand with no spacers, those blocks can be eliminated. For the spacers/blocks on the bumper bracket, simply torque down the bolts holding the bumper on, which will bend the bumper bracket flush with the frame. For the spacers on the vertical tab attached to the hitch, just use a heavy duty washer so the bolt head doesnt go through the hole. problem solved. good luck!

STOP! Before you start taking your bumper apart and installing your new tow hitch, make sure that it has not been damaged in shipment! Mine was clearly dropped, which bent one of the frame arms. The one damaged arm was sticking out of the box and I noticed a scrape on it. Sure enough, I lined up my straight edge on the arm, and it was bent inwards about 1/4 inch. Shipping it back to amazon.
