I was considering to move to NJ until I found out about the places I want to move to a somewhat high risk of flooding (especially during every storm as sea level continue to rise), and that there are industrial pollution (oil and chemical contaminants into the soil) or industrial dump (whether legally or illegally) into the soil and river, and that many places are Superfund sites or haven't been declared but known to be polluted (which is even more concerning if the government is hiding something). The EPA recommend to live at least 1.8 mile away from a Superfund site, but NJ is a small state, so many Superfund sites are concentrated together near residential areas. There are a lot of freight train tracks, chemical and drug manufacturing plants, industrial plants and storage sites are in NJ, with many of the materials are carcinogenic to health. I will continue to follow your channel for more information. I hope if you can provide some of your opinion and insights about these concerns would be helpful. That is because from commuting wise, I would really prefer NJ than upstate NY or CT.

Two questions: 1. Is this area easily flooded? 2. Is there any pollution (air, soil, water) from flood, Hackensack River, air and soil from highway, trucks, and any nearby industrial sites?

Thanks for watching! There are some areas that may require flood insurance of Greenville. If you type in Google “do I live in a flood zone”, look for a link to FEMA’s website to type a location or address to see if it’s in a flood zone or not. If it’s in an X zone, it won’t require flood insurance. Any other status will require it. Regarding pollution, etc you can do soil and air tests of the area during inspections of homes. I don’t know offhand of any pollution data, but Google searches might help
