Oh,oh my heart is in England . I went to England in 1963 for a year, fell in love ,stayed 6 years. Fell in love with a guy in first week there, we we were together foe 43 years living in Sydney. The Lord needed him and he went to God in 2016. I'm now 77 and live with my beautiful cats. Love is forever.xxxx John

I don’t think she has a clue what life is like for those of us who don’t live the lifestyle that she leads. I'm French, 21 years old, and I went to London three times : in 2016, 2017 and 2018. These were the only vacation I could afford in my life, because my mom managed to find a decent paying job 5 years ago. We only stayed for a few days in inexpensive places, we ate at cheap but awesome places and bought very cheap souvenirs but I will forever remember these vacations. I heard that a lot of Britons criticize the Londoners, but they were so kind and polite to us. It's becoming harder to meet strangers so well-behaved in France ! We discovered a place really different from our small town, full of traditions and secrets. I wish I could get back in England to visit the rest of the country... But right now I can't afford to pay a passport. I'm sad and I hope the UK and France will sign a contract to ease travels between the countries !

I'm a Yank, so I have little merit to make a statement. I'm sitting here, at this moment, bawling. The UK is at such a precipitous moment in her history both past and future. For as long as my lifetime, she has had the consistent service on one person who has served her peoples, guided her country through times good and bad, and loved her nation with more than all of her being. It is simply humbling to see that, amidst the chaos, and above the fray stands a nation in love with their sovereign. She is so very deserving of it, and her nation is so blessed to have her. May God continue to bless the United kingdom, and may God save, indeed, your Queen.

Just sitting here -- an American -- late at night, *weeping*, uncontrollably. They all stand up at once and sing, from memory, a hymn about working to turn their country into a New Jerusalem, a place where God -- His light and kindness and goodness -- dwells freely.
@britbazza35684 жыл бұрын
Samuel Barham Jerusalem is actually about the eighteen Missing years of Jesus. It is supposed to have been that Jesus came to the southern shores of England on a ship with his Uncle. Joseph of Arimathea who was a tin merchant! Hence the line -: "And dd those feet in ancient times walk on England's Mountains Green!" That start the hymn. Jesus then was supposed to have built a church at Glastonbury in Southern England. The town or village as it was then was called Avalon! So this is where the link to England and Jerusalem come into the equation. This is also why virtually every true English person k own this hymn off by heart. Please watch the link below which will explain the text above in greater detail kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fr-Snrdjms-qYps.html

@Nick the chopper The nations in the new world are more in line with civic nationalism where they are defined by the citizenship they have while ethnic nationalism is what you described, and that is more common in the countries of the old world.

This event is.. just simply.. Beautiful. Flags of all nations, states, etc, etc. No racism. No hatred. Acceptance. It's beautiful to see all the different flags there, saw a Florida flag, French flag, Spain, Argentina, UK, American flag.. It's beautiful.

79treefrog It's easy for us Brits, we're revering ourselves in song, props to the other nations (that are more than welcome) that come far and wide to join us doing so. But yeah, we don't take other people flying their flag as an insult, more we get euphoric in song together and bond, perhaps something as corny as singing really /is/ the way to peace xD

This lovely song always makes me think of England. Indeed---the whole world admires and respects this song and the country it stands for. As an American, I am proud to when I think of my English cousins.

I can not say how genuinely life-altering her death will be on the 2.5 billion of us, her royal subjects in the united kingdom, the realm and the holy commonwealth of nations. She's all we've ever known, she's not just Great Britain's queen, she was the Queen of the world, in a cultural and loving sense. we really are living thru some monumental historical events lately. HM the queen ELIZABETH II, there will never be anyone who compares to her. EVER. this is a cultural reset. and my British heart is breaking. the streets of England are solemn, all colours, creeds and differences united today. it is just mind-blowing. WHAT A WOMAN!!!! The world stands behind the UK at present and by god, we really hope you all allow us brits to mourn peacefully who was the greatest woman and leader the modern world has ever seen. GOD bless you HM Elizabeth II. YOU DID SPECTACULARLY and will go down In history as ELIZABETH THE GREAT!!!!

Everyone liked Elizabeth II, even Republicans did. She definitely united people like no other. I think you are right, in that we won't see anyone like her again (definitely not in our life times).

I have never imagined I will cry this hard over her death, but here I am still crying whenever I see a tribute to her majesty, It's such a loss and we will need time to fully process the fact that she's no longer with us, I guess in a way, I have never imagined Britain without her, she will always be remembered and she will always be missed.
