I don't like when people put this family down...i grew up with poor country folks like this . Yeah, they may do drugs and have their faults but sometimes those people are the ones that would give you the shirt off their backs when you are down and out. Don't fuck with their families though lol then you're in trouble. I guess some people are just too judgemental which is one of their own faults they don't see I guess...

Alot of Cherokee Indians were in boone county back then… my dad is from boone county across the old swinging bridge over in Madison and his mom was full blooded Cherokee too… my dad’s brother was really good friends with jesco… they were road dogs back in the day

By chance I was able to hang out with Mamie at her place. She was very kind and welcoming. She also had recently had part of her thumb chopped off. We followed her to Hasils place. She drove her station wagon like a bat out of hell

Did Johnny Knoxville ever pay this family?? I loved the movie, but thought they tried to exploit an average family in the mountains that live with a low income and take care of each other. I miss those mountains. I am in Detroit, and can't wait to move back down to the hills. My daddy's side is from Logan County, W.VA. and the rest of my family are from Pike County,Ky. I love those people.
