Saltimbanco was my first Cirque du Soleil, and it remains one of my all-time favorites among the many shows.

I figured that was the case... (watching the Dralion film...)

You are both Right and you are both... mistaken. In Saltimbanco the audience member is a different person in every show... in Dralion, as you have seen it is obviously a "plant", The role of the audience member was performed initially by a very talented actor who's name is "guto". Saltimbanco is unique in that the number is searching to find complicity with the guest, to open a true dialogue of play. Each night I had to adjust and find a contra rhythm to the individuals sensibilities.

normally they have one actor planted in the audience and another real audience member brought up.

do they always pick one person to do all the audience participations for one show?

How many times the selection went "wrong"?
