Fishing is different from the other gathering jobs, and one of the big differences is that most fish you catch are not used for anything, and you just throw them away or desynthesize them (fish desynthesis is by far the fastest way to level up your desynthesis skill for the Culinarian job by the way). Filling out the fishing log is a big challenge for completionists though, and there are many fish that require special conditions and skills to catch, such as required weather, bait, location, and even catching fish to use as bait for other fish. Some fish are used in cooking recipes, some can be used in aquariums for your house, a few can be stuffed and mounted for wall decorations, and all can be turned into drawings that you put in a frame on your wall. There are people in the game who have filled their entire house with fish aquariums and pictures for people to visit. As a gathering class, fishing can also snag a treasure chest on the line once a day, which you can sell on the market or open yourself. There are a few cool minions and mounts that you can get from fishing and fishing achievements too, such as the Magic Bucket minion or the shark mount. Ocean fishing is a whole separate mode, with ships leaving on different routes every hour that even people that don't like regular fishing will usually enjoy. And when you get to Stormblood, you will unlock another fishing mini-game which is underwater spearfishing. So, like everything in the game, there is a lot of depth, and you can get as deep into it as you want.

My favorite thing to point out is that, while it isn't always true, there is a *very* high chance of cats with heterochromia being inbred. ...G'raha has heterochromia. Therefore, G'raha is inbred. :V Love pointing that out and getting people screeching.

1:26:05 Chat was half-wrong half-right, it is actually not a spoiler to say this as the game never really addressses it, so most players don't actually know this, but he is indeed the guy in Jesse's video. He was a member of the Circle of Knowing, and is the reason why Jesse has him in the video. He's not a member of the scions though.
