Political correctness coerces people how to think and what they should be offended by. I don't need anyone to tell me what to be offended by. I know when someone says something offensive to me and what may be offensive to me might not be offensive to someone else. This issue of sports teams with Indian names is not new. I remember back in the 1970s sometimes the issue would come up. I can say that the several native americans I knew when I was in the service said they never had a problem with such names or team logos. Between 2005 and 2010 I worked with a lady who was bona fide member of the Cherokee tribe - yes a REAL Native American - not a fake one like Elizabeth Warren - who not only told me that she had no problem with teams with indian namesfpr sports teams, she also said "REDSKIN" was NOT a racial slur. People did not name their teams after something they found offensive. People named their teams after something they thought was awesome. Liberals decide what words become offensive. It depends on context what a word really means. "Grandma" can be offensive if yelled at a man driving too slow. Does that mean we shouldn't say "Grandma"" and more? Although "redskins" has become universally offensive today, I don't think that should be taken as an invitation to change every name in the English language. Eskimo and Blackhawk were not offensive, and still aren't.
