I have been using Figma for over a year in my design work and I realized I have never done a basic intro to Figma that covers all the topics a beginner would need to understand the Figma basics. So here it is Figma for Beginners... a sort of 101 class so to speak.
In this video, I cover all the basics you would need to know you start using Figma today in your professional design work. By the time you're done watching the video, you should be able to download the program, install, start making amazing things, and wonder why you ever waited to make the switch. If you are still using something like Adobe Photoshop for digital design it's time for you to experience something better.

design undergrad student here. We're currently using figma to design and prototype a music app for android and ios interfaces. Figma seemed pretty overwhelming for me at first, (and still kinda does) but I've been playing around with different tools and features in the app and seeing what they do. Figma is a very powerful design software.

If you already proficient in you current tools, doesn't matter it's Sketch/Invision or Adobe XD, embrace them! End of the day, it's just a tool you use to make design deliverables. But, If you were new to wireframing tools or don't have a mac, embrace Figma!

Awesomeness!! It looks like Figma combines Adobe XD's vertical ability of designing and prototyping and sharing and commenting with Sketch's ability to edit vectors and do more sophisticated editing within the app! I moved from Sketch to Figma not long time ago and I'm very happy with my choice. Sadly that it's still PSD era and Figma doesn't support it. Thanks for the video.

@@JesseShowalter You know actually yes. I was able to figure out the rest on me own and accomplish everything I had planned to. It's not one of those hard technologies to master. It's not easy to create a great looking site, there's no denying that but with tools like this one it's definitely much easier. I'm convinced that's what good technologies are supposed to do, they should simplify our life and not the other way around.

Been using XD for some time but most agencies are using Sketch and are transitioning to Figma it seems. Great intro, awesome production and a quick cover of the basic features! Might be too fast for total noobs, but for users experienced with similar software it's a great pace. Thanks!

My dad works in creating little games and apps in early childhood development. He has asked me to create a very simple app. It needs to: 1. Have a table with all letters of the alphabet, capital and lowercase, in random order. 2. Use a simple font that is easy for young kids to read. eg. not this one, as "a" is not how most kids will write it, and "I" (capital i) is impossible to differentiate between capital i and lowercase L. And "q" looks just like a 9. 3. Each letter must be in a tab on a table with all the other letters. The teacher will go through it with the child asking them to identify a letter. If they can understand it, they must tap the button, and it must change colour to show that it was a letter the child understands. 4. At the end, the app must calculate how many of the letters the child got right, and make a list of the letters they struggled with. It sounds much more complicated than it really is, but I am struggling to find an app/website that can help me do it. Any suggestions?
