"Drip" is pretty much exactly what you should expect when it comes to Jessi. Jessi is Korean-American from New York/New Jersey and Jay Park is Korean-American from Seattle, Washington. Jessi's and Jay's style is very western influenced, but they both will always come back to their Korean roots and they each have many K-hip-hop and K-pop songs, as well. Jessi has had a hard time over the years really finding her place in the Korean music industry, so a lot of her songs are a big flex, as she tries to prove to people that she knows what she is doing and that she doesn't necessarily need their approval. She will always be true to herself. However, in the last few years she is really starting to hit her stride. She is currently a regular cast member on several Korean variety shows and she hosts her own KZfaq show called Showterview where she interviews and hangs out with fellow Kpop idols and celebrities -- her show is pretty popular and it's becoming the it program to be on for anyone that wants to promote their work. Jessi is currently 33 years old. She started out as a member of a short-lived hip-hop group in 2005 and then became a solo artist in 2009. After taking a hiatus from the Kpop industry and moving back to the U.S., she returned to Korea around 2014 and became a member of the Kpop trio Lucky J from 2014-16, while also continuing her solo career. She spent most of her career under YMC Entertainment, but in 2019 she signed with P Nation which is owned by Psy -- the creator/singer of the mega hit Kpop song, "Gangnam Style", among others. I think it's Psy's non-traditional take on the Kpop industry and his ability to reach beyond a Kpop audience that has allowed Jessi to really blossom and become authentically herself. Everything that Jay Park said in "Drip" is 100% true about him and his life. When he says everyone wants a piece of him and he has bought 4 or 5 companies, that is all true. He has pretty much created his own hip-hop empire and he is one of the most successful solo hip-hop artists in Korea. When Jay is a feature in another artist's songs or someone features in one of Jay's songs, it's strategically done. As he says, he only does it if he thinks it will benefit both of their careers. Jay became the founder and CEO of his own Korean record label named AOMG in 2013. Then in 2017 he also started an international record label called H1GHR music and in 2018 he was signed to Jay-Z's record label Roc Nation in an attempt at gaining a foothold in the American music Industry. Now, in the last few months, he has also launched an alcohol company called Won Spirits with his own brand of Soju called Won Soju. And he just recently started his own entertainment company More Vision. Jay has wrote and produced music for a lot of hip-hop artists. And not only is he an awesome rapper, but he is an amazing dancer and vocalist as well. Jay Park is 35 years old, but a few years ago he was named by Forbes Magazine Korea as one of the top celebrities 30 under 30 to watch and he is one of the most successful solo artists in the industry, he is worth millions now. You should definetly check out his companys H1gher music and their projects, all dope rappers.. Maybe do a Killing verse from Jessi and from Jay too, Jay Parks Killing verse Really shows just how versatile he is as an ARTIST.
