Kilgrave is probably the most fucked up MCU Villain I've ever seen. Probably the only one with a decent plan too, mainly cuz he had none. He just wanted what he wanted and nothing else. He didn't want the end of the world or any sort of villain-y shit. He just wanted to get his way. Only Tennant could pull something like this off I feel like. I still see the goofy wonderful man yelling, "Allons-y" though
@aidanstead60697 жыл бұрын
George Weasley Ego from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. He killed all of his other children except for Peter. He killed Peter's mother by planting a tumour in her brain. He wants to use Peter to single handedly destroy the entire universe, and rebuild it from scratch so he was the only thing in the universe. He destroys Peter's Walkman, Peter's last memory of Earth and his mother in front of him. But I do agree, Kilgrave is pretty messed up.
@georgeweasley547 жыл бұрын
Except he too had some grand plan about taking over the univers. Kilgrave just wanted what he wanted in that moment. He didn't want to take over anything even though he could easily in a heartbeat. He just took what he wanted by just asking and he would get it. He's amazing in the most fucked up way. He fucks small people up in big ways and that is the most psychotic thing ever.
@geneparmesan87486 жыл бұрын
Kilgrave's my second favourite, but my favourite is by far Kingpin from Season 1 of Daredevil: he was a guy who really only wanted the best for his city and had a fucked up way of going about it. He even cared about the people around him, which is so rare to see in a show from a villain, but is also such an effective way to make someone relatable.

Necrobadger different language could be a barrier, imagine Kilgrave struggle to control someone who doesnt understand any english
@Necrobadger7 жыл бұрын
Shin-Ya-Kha All he would have to do is have a translator who speaks his language there to tell him what he needs to say.
@georgercop7 жыл бұрын
The command has to come directly from Kilgrave himself. Use of a translator wouldn't work. That being said, it's also possible to resist his commands if your willpower is strong enough. Captain America and Doctor Doom are both notable figures who aren't affected by Kilgrave's power, though Cap can sometimes struggle. Doom is Doom. Just shrugs it off.
@Necrobadger7 жыл бұрын
georgercop No, the translator could just TELL Kilgrave what to say. Also, I meant as in making leaders explain themselves to each other, to let other leaders see where they're coming from, and he could make the others listen. If he just forced them to sign a treaty, that would be messed up still.

What makes David Tennant work as Purple Man is his charisma never fails to keep him interesting or, at the very least, engaging. He's detestable and a sick piece of work , yet he's so engaging as a bad guy you can't help but love to hate him every time he's onscreen. My favourite episode is where he saves the family from the gun totting husband . It's such a good episode because it shows if Killgrave wasn't such a sociopath he could actually use his powers for the greater good and be a strong ally , there's even a brief moment where even Killgrave looks like he might revel in the chance of redemption, but then we're reminded he's a sociopathic rapist with absolutely no remorse or conscience.

I don't think you should binge watch this series, you might not be able to appreciate David tenant's acting and the vibe this series gives, I did not fully enjoy the series the first time I binge watched it, I was hoping for a dare devil type finale, But after I went through the series again, watching it slowly, I truly enjoyed the series, Damn this was so unique and David Tenant was amazing!!!!
@NameIess1ne7 жыл бұрын
Most shows shouldn't be watched so quickly. Without any build up or time to digest what you watched it doesn't leave as strong an impression. That is why a show you watched over a few years has more of impact than when you watch it in a week.

I think what's so scary about him is the fact that he sees literally nothing wrong with his depravity. He acts like rape, stalking and commanding people to horrible fates for his amusement is like a walk in the park. No one was there to tell him to to socialize correctly so he just grew up to be an entitled sociopath who never cared about right or wrong.
@sebas82254 жыл бұрын
He sees himself beyond humans super or not (provided he can control them), remember the first time somebody resists him, it´s Jessica Jones, nobody else and he ends up in a accident, after that he starts to view her differently, however no matter how he tries he can never cope with the fact he´s been brokenly wrong about his morals and past for so long that he´d rather deny reality and keep doing whatever he wants at the expense of others, than to accept he´s a crazy self-centered sociopath.

According to the showrunner, you can't top David Tennant, so you don't even try. They'll have him return in hallucinations and/or flashbacks, and they'll have multiple lower-tier villains.

Of course, with Kilgrave, 'best moments' is synonymous with 'creepiest moments'! Also, really Kilgrave? You'll do ANYTHING for her? Do you even HEAR yourself? Granted, once Jessica stayed with him, he did give that a pretty good shot, but I can't imagine it would have lasted that long, especially since Jessica really wants him to just leave her alone and stop hurting people, which he is clearly unwilling to do.
@adrimare12 жыл бұрын
@BoulderBro999 why? 'Course he's going about it the worst possible way... he does mention that he has to watch every word he says sometimes to avoid accidents he'd rather not see. He just didn't put in enough effort to be able to control his words automatically unless he wants someone compelled, or he doesn't care enough.

Honestly in all the superhero shows and movies, Kilgrave really scares me the most. He's so unhinged and just capable of living in a world where everyone does exactly what he tells them to, and he's played by David Tennant. If I were walking down a dark alley and he appeared I would absolutely shit myself, you have no idea what he might make you do.
