Dickie Betts wrote Jessica as a tribute to Django Reinhardt who actually only had two fingers on his left hand to play with, I would have loved to heard what he would have done with this song. He was one of the great masters from the past, playing the Gypsy music he and violinist Stéphane Grappelli developed. Most people never realized how handicapped he was.

Volker keeps it going like a train! I need to expand on this: I go back to an earlier Allman Brothers version - at the U. Florida bandshell, for example, and sure Dickie Betts is giving us the canonical version of the melody. But the Bass player is just simplistic and tedious, and really does not provide a foundation for the tune. Volker is clearly defined, fits right in with Sven's solid rhythm, and Joscho's also clearly defined, and uniquely his, rendition. I'm soaking in everything this trio, and Joscho's other combinations, play.

I hate stupid comments about Top gear intro.....for good sake it's an Allman brothers classic...from 1973...and yes gypsy jazz brilliant version..love these guys
