You should have seen her when she won for Female vocalist at the Arias (Australian music awards). Alicia Keys was a guest presenter and Jessica had a total "Wayne's World" moment. She was just so thrilled to meet one of her idols.

That is so awesome for Jessica, being on Ellen and having Beyounce watch her rehearse. I never knew she had been on here. Excellent for her to be introduced internationally. Now Ellen needs to have Guy Sebastian and all our other best talent on her show. She should let Hamish and Andy go on her show.

Darwin isn't a small town... maybe to Americans but really it's a city. It's just a very Australian city. I mean the capital of Australia is quite small (in terms of population) compared to many places in America.

I live in Melbourne and did a video conference to our Darwin office a few weeks ago. It was 2C in Melbourne and I was in a huge coat and scarf. The people in the Darwin office were wearing singlets and shorts. It was over 30C at 9am. I have nothing but respect for anyone living there.

It's really weird that she didn't just call it a city... maybe trying to sound more country girl :P Maybe she just says Darwin but she actually grew up just outside of Darwin. Who knows?

Thrifty Camel I understand calling it the 'the town' or saying I'm going into town. I lived in Darwin when I was in high school and the only time I can think of that we called something town was the shops... eg. "Wanna go into town?" but just because you call something the 'town' doesn't mean it's A town. Okay, now 'town' is starting to look weird I've written it too many times :P

❤❤ ❤❤❤❤ I've now seen the movie twice in 24 hours. and I am surprised that I did not know this film and from the sound and hearing I can see them but not in the foreground. But what a sound this lady has. The soundtrack is also on hifi stereo amazing. The sound. And laurel. He is dead on the penny. What a film that is also systemically like that in Psychology, completely correct, the actors fit exactly. It's a fantastic movie. Highly recommended if you still haven't seen it after 12 years, like me, and if you've already seen it, you should watch it again. Everything is in it rejection family music passion completely in the gutter or being dictated to be in full bloom and glory.

Times are a changing and good voices dont sell records any more. Most singers that sell records dont have great voices. The new culture around now is to not have a great voice but to have a quirky sound. Jess has done pretty well though in the OZ music scene.

@@exohexoh3948 For a Australian artist Jess has done very well, she is in fact our most awarded singer song writer that is indiginous to Australia in the recent decade. There are some like Amy shark, Tones and I that are the new sound that young people love and are doing well, but lets see if they can last the 10 or more years. All artists that are doing well have their fans and critics unfortunately. I even know an artist that is doing extremely well that even has close accociates that are jealous of her. it can run deep sometimes.
