Today's makeup tutorial is on my MUST-KNOW tips for sharp winged eyeliner (specifically for flat tapered hooded kinda droopy Asian eyelids like mine). I wanted to make this very beginner friendly so I didn't wear eyeshadow so you can see how I fix my mistakes to get the perfect wing! ଘ(੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭*

This has been one of the most highly requested videos on my channel, probably because 90% of the time I'm wearing makeup, I'll be wearing winged liner. I think it's just more flattering on my eyes since they're slightly downturned.
Now I know my eyes aren't the most hooded or flat, but I think learning how to do a winged eyeliner was my biggest struggle with makeup (even more so than a cut crease). It takes a lot of trial and error and I actually "perfected" my technique by practicing my winged eyeliner every day for 180 “consecutive” days (I wore it every day throughout my junior year of high school lol). I know, super extra, but worth it. ...? ¯\_(ಥ ‿ ಥ )_/¯
Let's just say yes so I feel better about waking up an hour early every day to practice ᕕ(⌐■_■)ᕗ ♪♬ Or if this tutorial is helpful, we can say I took one for the team so now you can sleep in haha 💤
How do you guys like this editing? I try to compete with myself to make each video better than the last and I think this video is a pretty cute winner. I know it's very short but trust it contains all of the info you need to succeed in winging your liner ଘ꒰ ๑ ˃̶ ᴗ ᵒ̴̶̷๑꒱و ̑̑
Oh, and don't judge my nails! They're doing their best 😭
Acrylics really damaged them (that's why they're uneven) so I'm letting them grow out. I tried to mask the ugly by using glittery + holographic nail polishes (which I rarely wear) and I kind of like them! ╭( ･ㅂ･)و ̑̑ ˂ᵒ͜͡ᵏᵎ⁾✩

Try applying the eyeliner while looking up. This happens with me too and apply the line while looking up. 💜

Smudge out yoyr eyeliner with a creamy pencil or shadow to smoke it slightly. Smoke slightly more on the lazy eye to make it less obvious.

With me I had uneven eyelids too (left was a double and right was single). It was pretty annoying so I searched for ways to fix it and I found eyelid tape. I bought it and tried making my single eyelid into a double and it worked! I wore it whenever I was home and after a month or two it permanently stayed a double (It’s been years since then so I can confidently say that), so I have even eyelids now :) Nothing wrong with uneven ones, but having them even makes life a little easier and there’s nothing wrong with that either lol

They're literally not even hooded or like the classic Asian monolid or hooded eye lmao Her eyelid is the same as any non-Asian or Asian that doesn't have the classic look. It was a good tutorial, but I think she's overanalyzing her eyes when she claims they're droopy. They're not droopy at all.

Sarah D sadly for me, not every vietnamese and east asian people have double eyelids. I think they're actually the smaller proportion. I have a monolid and a hooded lid. They're a pain in the ass and i tried double eyelids products but they dont work well on me

OMG!!! I've been trying to figure out how to apply eyeliner for soooo long. It used to take me literally 40-60mins to do it as I had to wipe it off a few times. Therefore, I didn't do eyeliner often. Although I have watched so many tutorials and it never worked with me. This technique is life - changing-3 minutes and it was looking perfect...I still can't believe it!

I just wanna say, I don't have hooded eyes but I tried out this method and let me tell u IT WORKS OMG I've been struggling with trying to get my eyeliner right and I've watched several videos! If u use the method of starting at the top of your eye (even if u don't have hooded eyes) it shows u how much of an eye lift you'll get. Then u can continue from there and decide how u want to do your wing. This video was literally life changing omg and I've finally figured out how to get snatched eyeliner lmfao

OMG! I just did eyeliner today, and I kept replaying this... Literally I nailed it in the first 15 mins. I'm not saying it was perfect right away,but applying this technique makes it look amazing when you have your eyes open. Also,I did fck up my eyeliner on my non dominant eye side, but i perfectly winged it anyway with micellar water and a Q tip so... Thank you so much! i was thinking the same thing! her eyelids aren’t the biggest but they’re definitely not hooded. you wouldn’t be able to see the space between her eye and the crease if they were. still a great video tho

It actually is hooded. Hooded means when the line of your eye connects with the inner corner. It’s just not the smallest hooded eyes

Thank you so much for this! I've always thought that winged eyeliner was just not an option for me since the outer crease of my eyelid comes down so low, but starting with that top line instead of the bottom made all of the difference!

I have Asian hooded eyes. And I’ve just been doing my eyeliner in a straight line since I’ve failed doing winged eyeliner. After your tutorial I’m able to do my eyeliner winged in a breeze. Ppl compliment mine eyeliner every time thanks to you! 💕💕
