She worked so hard for 15 years and finally she is here. She joined PNation, released one of the best album in 2020 (NUNA). She won her first MAMA award for Nunu Nana and had also trended worldwide #1 + started her own tv show. Don't forget she was everywhere on TV! It's all her hard work. So proud of you Jessi!

I think they see her, the personality and drive. Then see that she is confident about her additional physical beauty and does not deny it. Then they hate instead of elevating. I agree Jessi has an amazing voice and her range will only grow. Jessie fans got to come out strong because once they see she has the backing of a lot of people, those scandal cresting trolls gonna try hard.

This is the first time I'm listening to this song and I cried hearing it. I'm also someone who went back to their motherland after living in the US and felt that people thought I was strange (my language skills, my style etc). Jessi's lyrics hit home for me and reminded me to look back and be thankful for how far I've come - to believe in yourself and follow your heart. This is the most touching, moving song I’ve ever heard. A good song isn’t a song that is widespread, it’s the sincere and the realistic in it. The US isn’t ready for you, but we NEED you... The industry needs change... The US needs to respect Asian artists more and hopefully your time will come! You’ve been around as long as Nicki Minaj, you are a rap queen in your own right Jessi!

I like Jessi but saying that she should’ve been as big as Nicki Minaj in the west makes no sense. I agree that Asian artist are hard to come by but she didn’t consistently for the past 10 years promoted and released music. She took a hiatus for a long time and came back to Korea as an artist in 2014/2015 and been consistent since then. Also she’s never tried to promote in America and been trying (succeeding) to break through the Korean market hence she’s always been signed to Korean entertainment companies and her title tracks always being sung/rapped in Korean. If she tried to become a western artist and been around for as long an consistent as Nicki Minaj I would’ve agreed with you but this comparison just doesn’t make sense

Jessi is good but she is nothing like Nicki Minaj she is more on a Iggy azalea type of lane if Iggy could also sing. Thats not an insult by any means either, she's pop rap she doesn't have the rapping skill to really be compared with Nicki. If you don't actually like or understand rap music then I wouldn't expect you to understand though. If your looking for an asian female rap artist that stands a chance in the US I would recommend looking up Awich.

Don’t come for me 🙅🏽♀️ Jessi is talented and deserves more that’s all, and the Western market the US DOES NEED Asian American mainstream artists, one has YET to break through... A lot of these artist work hard and deserve soooo much more than a Korean platform period. As I said we need to respect more Asian artists, and last I never compared the two queens... Xavier Raza Not trying start shit.Of course asian artists deserve respect in the US and they don’t get it right now. Hip hop/rap though is not gonna take on to a Jessi very easily though. If she has a good introduction like maybe she could collaborate with saweetie or someone like that she could break through somewhat. There is a lot of xenophobia towards asian people in the US And her doing K-POP will automatically make it harder for her to change the perception people have of her. It doesn’t seem like Americans take K-POP artists as legitimate or self driven artists just more novelty or produced acts. So if she really wants it she’s got a tough battle ahead of her but more power to her if she’s willing to take it on.

This song is so beautiful. I feel this song is my story too, I left my country and move to the U.S when I was 16, I moved all alone everything for a better life and education. My mom told me that I will always do better and great things. Now she is in heaven and I say "Don't worry ma" I will be okay and I will keep fighting.
