People like Jordan Peterson and Russell Brand claim they have "found Jesus". I think what they have found is something very different.

As expected many people got upset and angry because I criticize their heros Russell and Jordan in this video. For those people, it is probably difficult to hear that I am not criticizing people for being Christian. We live in a time when people get easily emotional and triggered, as they call it, and I find that to be the case both on the right and on the left politically. But most importantly, please understand that I regret nothing and I will call out these grifters and others too, in future videos.

It doesn't matter where a person chooses to gleam information from as long as they know who they themselves are. As long as they have nurtured a disciplined mind. I believe people get into trouble when they look for others to tell them who they are.

How is recognising his clear disrespect, snide remarks and sheer ignorance a misunderstanding? I've followed Bjorn for around five years and there's been a negative shift in him as of recent which is very unpleasant. He talks about "truth" without accepting the fact that everyone has their own individual experiences. He's speaking from a very narrow framework. What rings true with one person, doesn't always ring true with another. This is a fact of life. So here's the problem - he cannot relate, someone simply disagrees with him and then he blows up with ego, biting back unnecessarily. Quite frankly, not everyone can relate to the vikings, nor has a keen interest in bushcraft or archery.. but does this mean we should mock his way of life? No. He talks about respect, tolerance, a "pandemic of narcissism" "we were right, they were wrong" and lonely people. This video is disrespectful, intolerant, narcissistic, and therefore contributing to loneliness due to his peculiar unwillingness to allow people hold/maintain their own beliefs "because it's all shit". Read his responses. That is outright hypocrisy. Someone who speaks out about all those real issues in the modern world should practice what he preaches.

I believe men - young men - are looking for answers and the aforementioned people play that role of 'answer provider'. The context to which the answers apply are purely interurpted via the listener, yet requires no actual answer given. This is why, for me, I seek the guidance of Nature. I allow myself to decompress and absorb the forest around me and the answer comes forth. I don't want enlightenment, I don't want riches or comfort. I want a genuine connection to other humans, in as detached from modernity as possible. Something raw and unfiltered. Filled with hardships of the soul, not of the bank.

If you see religion as just a evolutionary adaption in our culture (I think this is where people like Peterson started from - not sure where he is going now after his wife's miraculous recovery from cancer) then I can see how that makes sense as a lifelong atheist. Maybe we need something like it to function as a human society regardless of the absolute truth of the religious claims. That is how I now see it anyway, it is our collective societal wisdom being passed down the generations and a functional part of how a society works - I would prefer it to the woke non-functional religious cult that is seemingly filling the gap left behind by it

1. "Our collective societal wisdom" is built on patriarchy, white supremacist ideology, and centuries of violent colonial and imperial subjugation of all people and ideas outside of that. Most of us don't come from it, or fully share belief in it; we survive despite its implications in the world; 2. What exactly is "woke" ? Because it seems that the new co-opters of the term virulently hate it, but are never able to clearly define it.

I used to work for a property management group, every week we had someone come in claiming to be a new church ministry, as ministries are tax exempt in my area, sadly we have churches on every block now, yet noone questions it. You are right, its become a business and I prefer to follow the lone road of my own maker as I understand clearly who that is without the craziness of having to be told. Love the nature and the wise talks of sensibility. Opinions of others should not make someone mad especially if you allow for someone to have their own which you have always done.

First, I applaud you for taking on a difficult subject with sensitivety and honesty. I was baptised a Roman Catholic and even attended seminary for five years, but the best thing that happened in my life was when my application to continue my studies was declined. I took the road less travelled and it has made a world of difference. You might say I am a member of the Academy of Ancient Arts, of shamanism, communing with Nature, recognizing the cosmic energies of the Sun and Moon cycles, and one day hoping to experience the Nord Lyts! With all due respect to those who need a religion, I ask, like you say, do not impose their beliefs on others. Religion always gets in the way, ever since the cities of Sumer, joining the priests and the ruler. Christianity became tainted when Constantine was baptised on his death bed and proclaimed Christianity the State religion, joining the power of church and state. I also adher to Buddhist teachings which is not a religion but a philosophy; the Dalai Lama has been fostering the idea that there should be a Universal Code of Ethics of Love and Compassion. The Wiccan philosophy to "Harm None". What a wonderful world this would be.

They feel the pressure of alien cultures and religions in their homes. As recently as the 90s it was a luxury to complain about the evangelical Christians trying to control social habits, but not many anticipated that the younger abrahamic religion would be operating in Europe as it is today. I have become much less critical of Christianity and Christians for this reason as well. Even the famous atheist Dawkins has recently clarified his position as culturally Christian. To be dismissive and angry about the Christian part of European history, imported and false or not, is what opened the door wide open for all these other subversive ideologies to find a home. There must be a foundation to resist it now, and that is the most easily grasped touchstone for the masses.

Bjorn, the world is in crisis, and it is completely intentional. Our education system, at least in the US, is designed to create passive people who accept what they are told and do very little critical thinking of their own. When it comes to knowledge, they are secondhanders. They fill the content of their minds with the ideas that those around them hold, much like someone who receives secondhand clothes without any validation on their part. To change the culture, all one needs to do is change the ideas being passed down in education. Any who do think and disagree with the narrative are labeled "dangerous" or "misinformed."

Suppose a mass of people were walking straight forward into a pit. It's a mass of people, and they can't see it til they're right at the edge and they fall in. One person in the group happens to know they're all walking towards a pit. That person tries to tell everyone around them and pull people back, tries to lead the way out in a different direction. Some people in that mass don't believe the person who knows. They might try to pull him along, or silence him. Tell him not to push what he thinks on them. Point is, the people walking forward fall into the pit. And the guy trying to tell everyone the truth isn't an asshole for doing so. Folks realize that only once they slip off the edge into the hole and it's too late. Why Christians tell people the truth, in a nutshell. And pretty much what I see every time I hear the words "pushing their Christianity on me".

When it comes to religion, I value wisdom over blind faith and fanaticism. Which is why I study the Gnostic codices, it's fascinating, ancient stuff that pre-dates the New Testament. It makes more sense than contemporary Christianity. Gnosticism turns orthodox views on it's head, which is why it's considered heretical and pagan in the eyes of the Abrahamic faiths and as a result, Gnosticism has been actively suppressed for thousands of years.

From what I've learned it takes over a year or more in catechism at an orthodox church before you can actually qualify for baptism which usually only happens once a year typically on Easter. So the way Russell brand just decided one day recently to get baptized and it happened so quickly is VERY suspicious. He talks orthodoxy but doesn't show it in any way. Plus orthodoxy requires humility, something I've never seen in him.

However I had to drop out of 8th grade confirmation class because no way was I going to stand in front of the congregation ( Methodist) and attest that I believed in the required statements. Many humans believe the entire observable universe just happened to exist as an event appearing from nothingness where time governs all reality of a material world. Many humans perceive what they believe is all that exists with nothing beyond the natural world having supernatural qualities beyond human comprehension. An old Russian proverb asks a rhetorical question, "What does a frog in a well know about the ocean?" The frog in the well is humanity. So there are limits to what a frog in a well can know about anything beyond its frog realm using its frog brain no matter how smart that frog may be. It has its limitations due to its circumstances. But that doesn't mean there isn't a whole larger world of things that frog can never know just because of its limited "reality". So what does a whale in the ocean know about a frog in a well? Both can exist just fine without the one knowing about or believing in the existence of the other. “There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.”

Thank you Bjorn, very interesting thoughts. I've been thinking recently that, alongside this trend, is a much bigger, unrecognised trend feeding a developing public interest in history, which is enormous. ...I wonder if this is in fact a response to the general collapse of organised religion in the mainstream West. In ways, a return (if it can be called that) to veneration of the ancestors, the guidance and meaning, grounding offered therein. After all, religion circles, in many ways, around a veneration of ancestral figureheads and may be said to have evolved out of that, and the connection, grounding that offers. Aye. I published a 30 minute talk on this recently, for anyone interested... is this the grass roots response to that loss of unified moral structure and the wave of deconstructionism making a mockery of any sense of our place in nature and reality?
