Discussion Questions:
1) Since “The Old Testament is your spiritual history” what has been your engagement with reading and understanding the Old Testament? What have been the benefits and struggles?
(Read Romans 9:6-13 for additional understanding of Israel’s history as the spiritual history of Christians)
2) The disobedience of Adam and Eve in Genesis 3 fractured three levels of relationship: God with humans, humans with each other, and humans with creation.
a. Discuss how you have seen the proof of these fractures on one or all levels.
b. Discuss how you have you seen Jesus’ redemptive power on one or all levels.
3) Jesus demonstrates an “up-side down kingdom” where the first is last, power is weakness, greatness is becoming a servant, etc.
How does this concept compare with your surrounding social spheres’ demonstration of power and greatness? At work? In family? In Canada? Political?
4) What has been a cost of being a follower of Jesus for you? What in your life has looked "up-side-down" because of your surrender to the suffering king?
