Clearly, zionism is a form of secular messianism and is therefore a falsity: it cannot save the Jews. Only Jesus Christ, the Only True Messiah, can save them. However, since 1904, God in His Providence has nevertheless allowed the still-unconverted Jews to return to the Holy Land en masse, establish a presence and succeed to gain a secular statehood amidst their opposing neighbors and preceding inhabitants of the Holy Land, with whom they've had conflicts ever since. Violence, displacement, hatred and bloodshed have been ubiquitous especially for the last 75 years, since the interests of the Palestinians and Israelis seem to be more or less mutually exclusive. So far, Israel has survived 3 major attempts at its destruction (1948, 1967 and 1973), as well as the constant resistance of Palestinians, who want to regain the territory and achieve freedom and sovereignity. Zionism has contributed to the situation where the state of Israel and its (mostly immigrant Jewish) population are hated and despised on all sides (popular support across the world is actually very low, there is only some superficial and temporary suppprt of political elites primarily in the West, but that can change rapidly), therefore it is only a matter of time before Israel is going to be crushed by its local, regional and global enemies who are seething with hatred, fury and seeking revenge for at least what has transpired in the last 75 years, determined not only to dismantle the zionist state (political system), but to exterminate, expropriate and/or drive out at least the Jews in Israel: another holocaust is coming. The question on my mind is this: now that so many Jews have been gathered in a single place (due to zionism) and their enemies as numerous and powerful as never before and determined to inflict genocide on them (mostly motivated by theor reaction to zionism) when the opportunity presents itself, what can we as Catholics do to mitigate this looming evil and help reduce the carnage in the Holy Land - this time against the Jews?

While it's certainly the dominant view now, unfortunately, there are still quite a few historic premils, amiss, and postmils who have been fighting against this for quite some time. I don't really know what 'replacement theology' is. It sounds like a Protestant name for a variation on classic Catholic teaching. Or else it is a term coined to describe something crude that does not give space for the universality of God's Plan. If it helps, below is a passage from my book coming out next month. It is meant to show that the translation from the Old Covenant to the New is like a baby being born after nine months in the mother's womb. Has that baby been replaced? No. Has it been superseded? That would be a strange way of talking. It is one being, as God's religion is one religion. Before Christ it existed in a certain obscurity, in fetters (of the Law). With Christ it is born into the light, into freedom (of charity). The Old Covenant was in the blood of animals which cannot remit sin. The New and Eternal Covenant is in the Blood of Jesus Christ, redeeming us unto eternal life. Here's the passage -- hope it helps: "What is the Law of Moses worth today? Everything and nothing. Everything in Christ, nothing without Him. Many say that God cannot annul the Old Covenant, for He does not change His mind. This is to misunderstand His eternal decrees, wherein the whole process of change is foreseen in advance and unfolds in time. Nature frequently involves a passing over of singularities: sharp and irreversible developments from one state to another. A butterfly does not revert to a crawling caterpillar. A branch burnt to ashes cannot be brought back to a living state. A supernova, an explosion of light, cannot be reversed. A man cannot climb back into his mother’s womb. The rabbi speaks a lot of sense against the new world order, but he has got St Paul backwards, and therefore does not understand how Jesus fulfils the Torah such that Holy Mass fulfils the Torah. His idea of a ‘re-trial’ of Jesus sounds fascinating, if I have understood rightly that the expectation is to show He is absolutely innocent of the charges laid against Him, and that the trial that condemned Him was utter anti-justice and truth. He’s certainly the one to study in this area. He’s hard to understand at first because he comes across as completely chaotic so it takes a while to follow his rhythm of thinking. It’s rooted in Kabbalah so even if you disagree it’s important to understand the concepts of Kabbalah to track his logic. He’s the one behind the scenes that will eventually bring about the Jewish acceptance of Jesus as the messiah. He already has acceptance of one of the leading rabbis but he won’t go through with the retrial till he feels that the people of Israel are ready for it. He has a book and more details on his website.
