"Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."" - John 14:6
In the passage above Jesus is explaining that He is the only way to The Father (God). We are too flawed and imperfect to ever earn our way to heaven without faith in Jesus Christ. Keep in mind that heaven is simply being in the presence of the Father. Whereas Hell is the furthest place from The Father.
