Hunger remains a significant challenge in Uganda, affecting a substantial portion of the population. Despite the country's agricultural potential, various factors contribute to food insecurity, including climate variability, land degradation, and economic disparities. Rural areas, where a majority of the population relies on agriculture for their livelihoods, often face difficulties in accessing adequate resources and technologies to boost agricultural productivity. Additionally, conflicts and displacement in certain regions exacerbate food shortages, leaving many vulnerable to malnutrition. Efforts by government initiatives and international organizations aim to address these issues through sustainable agricultural practices, improved infrastructure, and social support programs to alleviate hunger and promote food security in Uganda.
