This is my fave Tull album and 'Skating Away' is in my top 5 Tull songs, i bought it on release ans still have my original vinyl along with this set and remastered CD! These sets are awesome, so well put together and the content has expanded to a point where it will take an entire day just to plough through, 'Broadsword' is due soon and I've preordered because its easy to miss out, Keep the great work up!

Bought War Child album on its release in 1974 . On this tour Tull sold out the LA Forum for five concerts. Because Ian said Elton John had sold out four concerts there.

All these wonderful box sets celebrating this wonderful music. I think that these box sets are a superior example of presentation as art. Albums I have loved for so long put together so wonderfully. What more could any fan ask for?

Hello Phil. Thanks for these most interesting Tull series. I bought their first 5 albums on release, but somehow lost a bit of interest after 'Thick as a Brick'. Strange then that almost 50 years later 'Passion Play' and 'War Child' are my Tull favourites ! For 'War Child' it all started with the extended CD release : I felt that the 7 bonus tracks were absolutely terrific and added a lot to the original album ! And this deluxe set deepens the experience still further : you get a real insight into the complete project. Instrumental cuts like 'Waltz' and 'Quartet' are superb. The genius of Ian Anderson ! Your videos prompted me to delve once again into my entire Tull collection !

Hi again Phil, Yes , I bought this one in '74 and later got very tired of it, lots of radio airplay (Bungle was played constantly to a point of annoyance), but I like this one now more than I did back in the '70's. The stage costumes were quite brilliant and Ian's voice was in it's prime during those years. In retrospect, it is amazing that a lot of artists put out new albums, usually every year, almost not giving us enough time to really appreciate and savor the previous ones. Sometimes, they get better with age, which is the case with this one and the others.

Hi Stan, thank you for watching. you raise a very good point that the band were releasing music at this level every 12 months while touring constantly! Phil

One of the best for bonus tracks. Tull had many good tracks every year from late 60s to early 80s

I really love the original album; I bought it when it was released. To me there were only a couple of dud tracks e.g. Ladies and Two Fingers, but all the others to me were tremendous. If it's Ritchie Blackmore's favourite Tull album it probably would have been Back Door Angels that swayed him. Warchild IMHO should have originally been a 2 LP set; there were so many great tracks that were left off the LP. The 40th Anniversary release is actually my favourite of all these book editions because of the addition of all those tracks. Brilliant!

This was the first of the boxes I bought, an embarrassing £12 new from Amazon!! I always had a soft spot for Warchild, but I hadn't spun it for a number of years before picking this up. When I heard Tomorrow was Today and Good God Mother which even the most clued up Tull Scholar never knew of their existence, I was taken back in time, to the excitement and passion I had for the band when I first discovered their amazing music. There was also a realisation of the importance of these boxsets to the collector, which was enormous, especially as they were always advertised as limited and one offs. I came to the conclusion these boxes weren't for Ian purely commerce, but about giving something back to the fans and laying down a complete legacy while he still had control of his Archive. I think he's always been a bit of a control freak.

Hi Keith, thank you for watching. I agree the entry prices for these sets was incredibly low for what was on offer. They could have rolled out for double, triple or more and it still would have been worth it. No other reissue program comes close to this. Phil

Felt exactly the same way about Thick As A Brick. There were bits of it I liked, but it never connected with me, and I liked stuff like Minstrel In The Gallery better. Then I listened to the LP while reading the original (reprinted) newspaper and for some reason, it totally clicked and now I'm obsessed with it. I even flatter myself into thinking I can detect which Prog Group they're making fun of at each instrumental passage. :D

Hi Derek, thank you for watching. I am hoping as I roll out videos for the whole series more people will see them and start to take note. It seems to be working. I will put them all in a playlist when they are all up and promote them on the Now Spinning Magazine website and social media channels. Thank you 🙏

Got to admit Warchild was not a fave of mine either though I got to like it more with this Media book release like yourself. It does have some classics on it though especially "Skating Away On The Thin Ice Of A New Day". I've always loved the album's self-titled track as well. One of the good things about these earlier editions is that they also contain the original Quad mixes. Another GREAT! job done here Phil and I see you played in The Hansom Beasts. I was born in Birmingham and still live there as well.

A lot of fans are not keen on this album. I like it and have had the album since 1979. I have the 2002 version, but HMV didn't stock this version. I did miss out on this one as it increased in price.

Well Warchild was suppose to be a movie and double album. Which always makes me think what could be. I do enjoy Warchild but I am more lean towards the John Glascock period. Too Old To Rock N Roll upto Stormwatch. It odd to say that a 29 year old became a fan 10 years ago thank to playing his dad tape of Benefit and Ian had just release Thick As A Brick 2. which open the doors to Tull music.

I have all 1970's Jethro Tull albums and think War Child isnt bad but it's their weakest. Exceptions are the title song, Back Door Angels and Skating Away
