Күн бұрынWe visited our friend, @AlexJurj who has been living off grid in a Romanian countryside in Cluj-Napoca. He has a farm, and is building his own earth house, grows his own veggies and fruits: tomatoes, pears, etc., and lives near the forest where mushrooms grow abundantly. He strives to live a sustainable life where everything a human needs for survival is available in his own backyard. He had so much fun foraging for mushroom, and even had mushroom ciorba his mom cooked for us. Check out our vlog.

Wow, Wow, Wow and more Wow....such a lovely place with that earth house. Love that village vibes...so peaceful, so calm, so green and it's truly a gem. Foraging for mushrooms in the wild is real fun. I have to say, the Alex' and Mama's smiles are so .... real .. peaceful, serene .. (?). I have to find another word. But once again I am amazed how naturally and easy you two connect with so many people all over the world. And , even if at some point you will take a break from travelling, we will feel very betrayed if you do not document and upload videos about "farm life of a family with 5 to 10 kids".

I visited Romania last year, just before the Xmas. Went high in the mountains, stayed at remote hotel 1000m+ above the sea level. Am born in Europe, seen a lot of different countries but Romania blew me away. I would love to live there in the rural areas. F the civilization lol. First thing I really did like is very strong bonds to your traditions and also how people are tied to each other.. at least my romanian friend says that mountainers are different than those city people :) Don't know if it's true. Much love to Romania!

Love love this.Good for Alex.He gives true meaning to the term Living off the Land. Mushroom foraging looks so much fun.The only mushroom foraging rule I know is,when they are pretty they are usually poisonous ☺ Hope someday Alex will find the woman to share his dreams with and they will live happily on this land with their 5 kids.Or 10 😂 Hope to see more videos of rural life from you.

For those 2 buckets of mushrooms you would pay somewhere around 300 dollars in the city and they would not even be fresh. Think about that.

Before you leave Romania make sure to buy your mustard and spices for the Romanian recipes! I do the same when I get back in Germany, I just bring a little bit of home with me, doesn’t matter where I go because of my job. 🇷🇴❤️

9:16 when you are pulling them fully out the ground you are making it unlikely they will grow in that spot again, this is the reason the other man is using a small knife. and leaving some of the base in the dirt.

Guys, i don t know where are you right now, i know you post 2 week later so i m guessing you leave our country but if you come back in Romania you must visit Cezar machidon, check out his channel Cezar Machidon-outdoors living, he live offgrid in mountains and made by himself an empire, he live a life that many of us are just dreaming about it, he organize courses and teaching people how to survive in nature and how to live off grid, it s an amazing experince and i m sure you re gonna like it and love it!!

Urbanization only happened in Romania in the last 50 years, so post people have a countryside home or at least grandparents that had one. This kind of low tech was normal 2 generations ago. A lot of foreigners come to Romania to experience this. But it's not so interesting from a Romanian perspective.

unfortunately a lot of Romanians don't really know the roots because of growing up in the cities. I'm born and raised in NYC but i have family from poor village in Romania which i spent time in so I've experienced the best of both worlds, one of the richest cities in the world and country side living off land and from my personal experience, I rather live off the land in Romania and I will leave new york for good one day

This is blackcurrant fruit, you can turn into jam, or tincture. Very, very useful to treat cod and flu. We got a lot in area Horezu, Vîlcea. Gorgeous view guys.

Amazing video, amazing family. I didn't knew about them and I am from Romania. As a romanian, I would never eat mushrooms handpicked from the forest(my mother collect them every year). We always heard stories about people who were handpicking mushrooms all their life and they died due to mushroom poisoning. You can have a small piece of a bad one and it's fatal. My mother loves them, the other part of the family don't touch them

There are traditional methods that help finding out if the mushrooms are poisoned or not. I suppose your mother is using them.
