I've never heard that the Jaw harp would have a Jewish tradition before. It's primarily known as a Scandinavian historical/folk instrument.

The name jew harp has nothing to do with the Jewish tradition or culture. That name derives from an early English or German word jue or jaws. It is just one of its many names.

It's actually called a jaws harp, you can look it up. Some people claim it is the oldest musical instrument, aside from drums and rattles.
