A bit late, however here on the Isle of Wight (off the south coast of England) I keep these outdoors all year. Along with various other Mediterranean herps.

Portuguese here, these animals are paradoxical. We call them Sardões and the subspecies we have here, Timon lepidus ibericus is almost mythical. It used to be much more common back in the old days, our grandparents and people from their generation tell us stories about how feisty and defensive these reptiles are in the wild. I've heard stories about people getting chased by them, attacked by them, dogs being confronted by them, etc. However in captivity, Jeweled lacertas are amazing pets, a lot more tame and relaxed, it's night and day

I get my babies on Wednesday :) I breed a similar lizard species called zootoca vivipara their native here in the uk I breed different colour morphs

Hi I saw from a photo of the fair, that you would have a specimen of young ocellated lizard. I am interested in buying the reptile. I'm from Italy and I wanted to know how much it would cost to send it and the info for the terrarium.

I’ve never been to Florida & This might be a dumb question but if they need a basking spot of 100-120 is it always that hot outside? I’ve always been curious cuz I live in the Inland Empire so the weather is usually warm to hot but still very unpredictable and always loved outside enclosures but never know what kind of animals that can even be kept in the same exact climate as me.

If you sit in the direct sun then it probably gets that hot. It's usually in the 90s in the summer

5-10 crickets with calcium dust a day when it's a baby and they also eat bananas

Not as a defense something has to break off once bigger than babies they use it more for fighting

Love your breeding projects and are some of the best I've seen. Kinda uncomfortable about the WCs being offered though. But I'm in no place to judge. I had a WC Savannah monitor gifted to me and her discomfort and unhappiness hurt my heart. I really wished I could have afforded to take her back to Africa and released her back to her home. Had her about 7 years. Broke my heart.

forreal that's what I was thinking. Just because they can survive like that doesn't mean they like it. I think the same about alot of people with bearded dragons, they keep them in shit that's only long enough to take a few steps then turn around when they're full size, no wonder they're so fat. Personally I wouldn't do less than 6ft for either, with extra levels to explore so it isn't just the ground level.
