Morning prayers in Judaism last at least 40 minutes, afternoon prayers I can do in about 20 minutes, evening prayers about 30 minutes.

I enjoy the length in prayers, especially the morning and evening prayers which are longer. The time of prayer is an obligation to some, a blessing and gift to all. I do not find it as much as an obligation as a gift from God. It is a time out and a realignment of my beingness. The Hebrew word for “to pray,” as the infinitive, is “l’hitpalel.” This is a reflexive verb meaning, “begging the self.” The way to God is through the center of your being. When you pray you realign your way of being with your beingness, the only beingness that is, the infinite. This is what is meant by the teaching from pirkei avot that says, “do his will as if it is your will, so that he will do your will as if it is his.” This is alignment time, a break in the action of doing which gets us all crossed up, confused, angry, frustrated, and all that. It is a time for re-centering oneself through connection with the infinite beingness which is everything. That said, you should see how long we pray on holidays! 😂

In Hebrew we call it “Avodah,” service. Worshipping the creator, honing in on and aligning with the infinite oneness is what it is all about, in all its many forms.

This “we” is made of of “me” and “other me.” We are different in that we have different names, different bodies, different origins in physical life, but we are the same as image bearers of the infinite creator of all. We are the same in essence as infinite energy in the form of ever ascending souls. So when I see my other I see me, the real me, the self, the higher self, also within my other. Sometimes the individual has to be dug through to get deep enough but eventually, if you go deep enough, all are images of the infinite creator. All the same.

There are records in the Talmud that discuss how at the Beit Ha Mikdash despite numbers there was always adequate space for prostration. Some groups still do so such as Mizrachiim and Karaites (i believe the latter are Jews regardless of others opinions). Our brother gives an explanation of why many Jews stopped this, because there was a desire to distinguish from Islam which adopted this practice. However this concerns me because the practice in Judaism pre-exists this, so the decision to refrain seems flawed. There is another explanation concerning idolatrous practice and a warning not to hew a stone and then prostrate before it. This one to me is a more acceptable reason. However during Yom Kippur they get around this by putting mats, grass or similar on the floor. So the question is why not at other times. Also shouldnt intent be a consideration, if in your mind i am prostrating before the creator and not because of what is 'before me' then where is the issue?

But the truth is Greek Orthodox Christians are the first and original Christians, and Greek Orthodoxy is the oldest form of Christianity and the only one that has remained unchanged in our worship, traditions, and theology, and even the RC acknowledge this about us. But yes, Orthodox Christians prostrate in our personal prayers everyday and also in certain times in our churches. It is important to us. We have always done this, and RC came later. With respect, and with no intention of starting an argument, what is your proof that the Torah was modified many times? Is this simply because it says so in the Quran or Hadith? In the Torah it tells us not to change even one letter of the Torah. The oldest known copies of the Torah are thousands of years old and at most the deviation is a couple of letters. This predates Quran. If it is only that the Quran and Hadith claim this then where is the righteousness in the claim? Where is the proof? I respect you and your traditions, it shouldn’t be difficult for you to respect ours without trying to hijack it. It’s interesting how many negative comments I’ve gotten on here from Muslims. It doesn’t matter to me how many times they’re written. In thousands of years more Jews have died for not denouncing our faith than there have been Muslim martyrs. Does that make us right and you wrong? Of course not! Either both are right or both are wrong but in either case both live in separate realities which overlap. Shalom salaam.

@@lightleaker7045 okay first of all Take my Salam my brother. The point is God sent us Messenger to every nation we all know. Some of them agreed and others didn't. So people who want to worship one God only, for them God has given his words to us. And we believe in Gods words. As we believe in God's words as a Muslim i believe in All the previous scripture. God knew that we all will commit sin on this earth. Religious books are given to have discipline and peace. As God told previous scripture was also correct for us, but it wasn't preserved the way it should be. That's why while passing the message through people it got changed like Interest is forbidden to take or to give. But it was changed later. Also about women and their rights were not preserved in that book the way it was written. If you look at the Quran it has given the clear information about marriage, women's rights, parents rights, about not taking or giving interest. At the end God has warned us about interest which is a kind of war with God and his Prophet. All these were missing, and humankind was suffering in their life. To have proper guidance from God to mankind, God gave us Quran and God also mentioned that he will protect this book, that no one can ever change. I would request you as you can read books and believe in one God then why not do some research after reading the Holy Quran. Because as we believe in One God, it wouldn't harm us to know more about God. In Quran it is written that God will protect this book and that is the last book from him to mankind. Out of curiosity you can at least read some chapters. You will not regret after knowing the truth and i am not saying anything about your beliefs. God said to worship him Alone and not to do idols worshipping. We don't do that. My request to you Just try to pay little attention to my message and then you do whatever you feel to do. No prob.
