When palestinians and israelis lived together and the state of Israel still didn't exist, the UN suggested the creation of 2 states because there was fighting between the two groups. The Palestinians didn't want to, so Israelis decided to create Israel anyway. Palestinians with other countries (such as Jordan and Egypt if I remember correctly ) declared war on Israel but it won every battle.
