India is the only nation on the planet that has been kind to the Jews. The kings in Cochin have given the land and religious rights. I belong to Kerala where Jews landed and lived peacefully until very recently without a single incident of hatred.

Its the whole India bro, Jew landed to Kolkata Bombay, Gujarat and some travelled till Manipur. They lived peacefully everywhere in India, except Goa Inquisition of Portuguese, but there also Foreigner Portuguese Christians hurt them including natives.

I am an Indian but I can't blame them for leaving India. I mean, after 2nd world war, if they felt like they needed a Jew nation, who can blame them. My dad told me stories about this beautiful community. Jew street is still there in cochin but nowadays it's busy shopping street. If an Cochin jew is reading this, remember that we still love you.

Cochin had an efficient electrical distribution company named Cochin Electric Company owned and managed by a Jewish family.. I remember going their office during 1970s for bill payment and received excellent customer service! Good old memories!

The people featured here are Shepherdi Jews whose ancestors fled Spain/Portugal in 15 th century to escape Inquisition and landed in and around Cochin. They are called White Jews or Paradesis(Foreigners) .In fact, it is the Black Jews, the principal constituent of Cochin Jews, who had been living in that part of India since antiquity

Interesting: The lady who spoke at about 1:30 seems to be the one in the other documentary in KZfaq 'Remains of a dream: The Jewish saga of Kerala' in 2017 in Cochin at around 1:04:55. She speaks the same way and she never left, if it is that same lady.

I just hated the way the Frenchie closed the segment (then again 'twas the 60's, so it doesn't surprise me) saying how 'tis sickly of them to have closely guarded their pure bloodline in a time when mixes have happened! Ugh! So what if they wanted to guard theirs by not mixing?! There's nothing wrong with that because it is their choice, and India is a place where ye have your freedom of choice, atleast when it comes to Religion! Other than that comment, the video is just beautiful! 🤓
@krcrux6 жыл бұрын
I am afraid, you missed his point. He was not commenting on their sickly mentality but airing some hazy idea trying to connect purity of blood and population decline. Of course, he was too moralising about what he saw in India. You have to allow for his inexperience as he was very young then, in his early twenties, I guess.

This is just wonderful. However these are European Jews who arrived later on after the Portuguese discovered Kerala. The ancient jews of Kerala were the black jews. They remain a mystery actually because they have existed since centuries. Those Jews came around the time when Syrian Christians was introduced in the state. I am sure Syrian Christians of Kerala have genetics shared with the black jews. The only way that could be discovered is through genetic testing. Mala in Thrissur had a Jewish community as well as northern Malabar regions of Kannur and Calicut. Muslim communities too happen to be mixed race in Kerala.

As long as the soul remains inside body, our attachment with land, property, money etc..seems to be strong..when soul departs, detachment starts , the one that is constant is our thought. I think soul carries this thought n wander around ..deep subject to be explored. Past life n Present ..I believe I had my past life , I was a girl in that birth n I was a devotee of Shiva.. yes.
