I flew a real Cessna 172 out and in of Courchevel with my brother years ago. Needed a safety pilot as there is no such thing as a go around. After throttling back you apply a little power again because of the runway incline. Our flight that day took us into Italian airspace up to Mt Blanc and back. TAS was 0. There was a lot more snow about. That small building to top right of the runway is the bar, which used after shutdown

In reference to the Citation II: The sound going off is the ELT which is designed to go off after detecting a 5G impact with the terrain. The speed brakes are solely a toggle switch (extend/retract) there’s no arm function like the auto spoilers on larger business jets.

Hi Jeff. I have a challenge for you! Wellington airport, New Zealand is well known for it's very strong winds. Domestic and international flight come and go all day flying sideways with strong cross winds. You get ATRs, Dash 8s, A320, A321, 737 and 777-200. Hercules and globemaster aircraft also fly into there. The largest aircraft to fly in and out was a 777-300. It landed empty and took off loaded I believe. It is a notoriously short and windy runway. I'd love to see you give it a go with some strong winds.

Tried this and I can say, this has been the toughest runway to land bigger jets on!

You had the luck of the Irish on your side for that second Ryanair landing Jeff!

Jeff, try this challenge again, but next time come in high, with full flaps, power off, and use your spoilers for speed control. Set them main dogs down, right on the piano keys, and keep the nose up for as long as you can on the roll out, and even after the nose drops with the decreasing speed. Fully activate your reverse thrusters right at the moment of touch down, and deploy your spoilers immediately, this all has to be done at the same time. The point of keeping back pressure on the yoke during the roll out, is to use the elevators as additional wind resistance measures to help slow the airplane down. With everything deployed, and activated, along with full brakes, and elevator resistance, you should be ok, regardless of the plane.

These are very contrived but fun challenges. For the fun of it, try a steeper approach with the spoilers out to see if the aerodynamic breaking helps you out. You can try hitting the reverse thrust in the flare too. Have fun, but don't get caught.

Next stop; Lukla in Nepal. I've flown into there from Kathmandu on my way to Everest 25 years ago. Now...I flew in the Navy for a decade so short fields were "my jam"...but the "no go around" thing didn't sit well. Coming back to the boat at night was stressful but honestly I was puckered more partly because I wasn't flying and because it's either land and stop...or land and splat. Right into a wall which said "Welcome to Lukla"!lol! Take off when I left was pretty cool though!

I'd like to see a winter landing at Queenstown Airport (ZQN), where the surrounding terrain, and low visibility, make it challenging. Also the good ole classic tough airport, Tenzing-Hillary Airport (LUA), another side of mountain approach at 2473m.

Fly at Capitol City Airport, that's my local airport. It was made in the 30's. It used to be Harrisburg airport, but then they made Harrisburg internation airport across the river. The airport is used for GA and business jets. I was able to take off an a321 without flaps... But that was fsx...

Toncotin in Tegucigalpa with some (VFR) weather would be a good one. I used to fly that one in FSX back when I had a PC capable of running a flight sim.

I fly the citation 2 for my job. 65% N1 will be a good power setting for final. Ref speed between 97 and 104 depending on weight. Also, we have to manually deploy speed brakes. Cant arm them to automatically deploy on touchdown like boeings or airbus can. Its the switch just below the power levers on the captain side.

Check out Mountain Air in NC. Its a country club/golf course on top of a mountain that's accessible only by its airport. There's some scenery too. Sure to give some difficult landings.
