JFK is busy every morning. Redeye flights from Vegas, Phoenix, Denver and cities on the west coast proper bring in loads of passengers, most of whom are connecting onto one international destination or another. Delta has really upped their lounge game over the last decade, and continues to do so. Very impressive. Having said that, I like the Centurian Lounge in Las Vegas Terminal 1, especially prior to said redeyes. Really good selection of yummy food, and normally not too crowded there at night.

I’m so glad you found it helpful. Also, there is ANOTHER Delta SkyClub that just opened on the A side of the terminal. IF you are leaving from that side, I can say that it’s just as nice, if not nicer than the one on the B side. We are hoping to do a video with our kids of that one in a few weeks. It is a long walk to get over to the B gates from A though… Either way, you can’t go wrong with either JFK SkyClub.

I’m so glad this helped you! I will say that the new lounge at the A gates is also great and is a nice option. I’ll be landing into JFK in a few days and will probably use the B gate lounge to work for a bit upon arrival.

For sure - I shouldn’t have been surprised by how busy it was - but thankful the DL SkyClub was ready to roll with it more so than AMEX Centurion. I have been to that LAS lounge, and I thought it was MUCH better than the JFK edition. I prefer the SktClub over Centurion at JFK. Also, at O'Hare.

Just saw your video. By missing the lower level at the Centurion Lounge you missed their 4 individual bathrooms, which beat the facilities at the SkyClub for their privacy (one person per bathroom). I tend to prefer the Centurion Lounge for its compactness and nooks and crannies. The SkyClub can be overwhelming in its vastness. Also, the SkyClub these days has very long lines and it's just easier to go right to the Centurion Lounge after security before walking 7 minutes to the SkyClub only to encounter a line.

Thanks for the advice - I hear you! I need to make it back there in the afternoon to see if the offerings are better, and…to try the speakeasy. Admittedly, the afternoon line at B32 is not for the faint of heart. That said, while not in this video, my real love is the new-er A8 lounge. Their work pods are amazing!

As everyone has stated, There is nothing new here. It’s always packed at Jfk. Perhaps even just a year ago the centurion lounge used to be decently seclusive ; you can throw that out the window, it’s packed in it there .. more space at the terminal bar!

True. I’m sure there are a range of rules for different locations with reasons ranging from staffing issues to liquor license laws. But the more you know…. I hope you still have a great experience in the lounge!

Are you a celiac or do you just choose to be gf and diary free as a “fad” diet?

Neither, but good question - my son has ADHD, and we use this diet to manage his symptoms by eliminating inflammation, but we have all opted to follow it for simplicity. We do have a few other videos on our channel regarding this topic! Thanks for watching and asking.

Thanks for the response Nick! And thanks for the question, Julia. Our whole family switched to this gluten free/dairy free diet when we (with medical direction) found it to be a great support for our son’s ADHD symptoms. That said, I had already been mostly gluten free myself for many years as it helped with my own recurring nausea. Since then I’ve been tested and I do not have celiac but I do have a gluten sensitivity that causes vomiting when exposed to cross contamination so I now avoid gluten entirely. With a careful diet and prescription anti-nausea meds I manage to have fewer vomiting episodes than I used to. So, no, not celiac, meaning the gluten does not do damage to the lining of my intestines. But there are other legitimate reasons why it may be medically necessary for someone to be completely gluten free (and unlike many of those who are gluten free by choice for weight loss or other reasons, we are very careful about cross contamination, so we hope even those with celiac find our recommendations here helpful for their trip planning.) I hope you find these videos helpful!
