thirwell has legitimately great comedic and acting abilities. going off his no wave cinema cred and interviews like this one, he should have been scouted by hollywood and end up in a tarantino film

I remember this interview very well, but I wasn't aware of who Foetus was back then! Only two years alter I bought Hole and Nail and was in awe!

I met this man today. I saw him and ensemble in Shepherd's Bush a week ago. Synchronicity of the gods.

All to rare interview from the enigmatic JG. Never compromised even when he released "Gash" on Sony for one album.

So much of this didn't end up happening, makes me sad. Too ambitious for this earth.

JG has the weirdest accent I have ever heard. Honorary American.

Australian normally, but putting on an American (non-specific) accent for dramatic effect!

That was hard to watch. Shaking all over. Fantastic, badass attitude visibly ruined by way too much booze and drugs. I read somewhere he said that alcohol ruined a lot of his projects. Cool that he’s clean nowadays.

I think the "badass" attitude is partly ironic satire of American Rock bands, and partly a cover for his shyness.

When I seen foetus on that tour w ultra bide and halcyon, ultra bide hung w me n my brother all night, then after jg came out,and chatted w us,he was so tiny.i asked him bout appearing on the argyle park lp,a Christian industrial supergroup, which had guys from drown, circle of dust, mortal, etc. Thought it was odd he was on a Christian bands lp

I love his early stuff when he was an aussie, but what's rediculous corney faux american voice he's putting on here! He must be embarrassed about this interview now surely!
