I agree with this. Also, if JC had been a bit kinder and braver back then, he could have protected the Wen refugees. He could have told them he is paying a debt to WN and WQ, they practically saved his life (aside from the core transfer thing). If he done that, the other sects would have shut up and WY wouldnt have left lotus pier. They could have stayed brothers. But he decided that only WWX needs to adjust to him and the world and not the other way around. He never attempted 'to do the impossible', which is his clan's motto

It is true WY didn’t actually break his oath. He kept his promise to Madam Yu to keep her son alive but also by him giving his core to Jiang Cheng ultimately means he has and will always be by Jiang Chang’s side and help run his Sect and continue to further his own cultivation. Jiang Cheng is still riding on high emotions of guilt and lashing out at WY to alleviate it. It’s not the right thing to do but it is understandable.

@@irismartha0525 I think that Jiang Cheng would have been more like his father as the clan leader if his mother, Madame Yu hadn't been criticizing and making snide comments about how Wei Wuxian was better than he could ever be. Never feeling that you could ever measure up to your demanding mother's expectations would make most people emotionally insecure. Jiang Cheng is a skilled warrior and he is brave in a battle. Unfortunately, he does have his mother's temper and sharp tongue. Jiang Cheng had a lot of resentment bottled up inside that just festered for years. In the end, all of the truth comes out. Jiang Cheng has many regrets and though Wei Wuxian has forgiven and put it all in the past? His brother is going to need more time to get over his own guilty feelings and remorse.

I totally agree and my take on JC siding with the majority was because that’s actually what WY advised him to do hence the fight they had to make it look real when JC left the Burial Mound w/o WY. If JC really sided with the others why would he bother seeking out WY when their sister was going to get married. He trusted WY even after all that had happened up to that point so I can totally understand why he’s bitter.

What I'm about to say is just my interpretation of these points you made (we all know that your opinions and how you feel about the characters is as valid as mine): 1. It's not that he wants to be superior, it's just that he's tired of feeling inferior all his life. I get the feeling that Jiang Cheng just wanted to be considered equal to Wei Ying, but he can't because there's always people (aka his mother) that keeps saying that he's nothing compared to Wei Ying. Also, he's the rightful heir of the Jiang clan and both him and Wei Ying know it. When he says things like wanting him as his subordinate he's not belitting Wei Ying, that's their status. 2. I blame most of this one on his mother. She always kept reminding him how his father was always more fond of Wei Ying and after years of hearing that, I bet it stays with you forever. 3. I think this one is because of their relationship as brothers and their lack of communication. Wei Ying always hid things from Jiang Cheng because he wanted to protect him and never confided in him as much as he did with Lan Zhan. With Lan Zhan he felt more free because he wasn't tied to the belief that he had to bear with everything. And because Lan Zhan is his soulmate and that can't be comparable to any other relationship. ;) 4. I think that at that moment, Jiang Cheng was ready to die for Wei Ying, because he knew the Wens were going to catch him and he knew they would problably end up killing him. So, yes, Wei Ying knew exactly what he was doing and I respect him a lot for that, but I believe that Jiang Cheng also knew what he was doing. 5 and 6. I agree that he made some wrong decisions here, because he could have helped more, specially Wen Ning and Wen Qing. But I also understand why he didn't: his parents and most of his sect had been killed by the Wens and his brother had abandoned him for the Wens, he had to rebuild the sect all by himself (let's remember that he was still a teenager here) and he also couldn't risk getting on the bad side of the other sects, especially the Jins, since his sister's marriage depended on it. Also, let's remember that Jiang Cheng knew all along where Wei Ying was and he wasn't against him protecting the Wen remanants per se, he was resentful of how those people had "stolen" his brother from his side. He only "turned" against Wei Ying when Jin Zixuan died, and that was because he thought that his brother was lost to his evil powers. I'm not saying that Jiang Cheng is an angel, because he isn't, but he's not as bad as he may seem. (Sorry for the long reply, I just got a bit carried away. xD)

He tried to know the Truth before making decisions. Also, His family was also WY family, WY also lost the person who saved him, does being adopted exclude him?
