I have waited 7 years for this day. And I am pleased to see they have improved the fighting art significantly since the introduction of the 2-D CG models in 2015. I'm seriously glad to see the animation of those models have improved logarithmically since then and I am eager to see what this season holds. I still have my small model collection. Mostly gambier Bay because she's my personal favorite, though Kaga is big me energy too...

FINALLY! We've been waiting for this since 2017. I can tell this season will probably have some of the darkest episodes of the anime since it's based on Nishimura's Fleet, and we all know how that's gonna end.

Keep in mind it's about shipgirls struggling *against* fate and their past, a major theme in S1. Even so, a good end doesn't mean there can't be drama, as the movie has shown.

@@ddshiranui Worth noting: This series does not take place in the same universe as Kancolle the animation and the game. It takes place in its own timeline. The writers said this one is going to be darker and also grittier than the original animation. And as its going to be only 8 episodes, they cut out the usual 4 filler episodes that normal 12 episode series will have. So expect at least a good number of these shipgirls to sink. As it is, Shigure was the only survivor of the Nishimura fleet anyways.

@@HunterSteel29 Eeh, I wouldn't take a darker tone to automatically indicate a break with one of the franchise's core themes. Not that I'd necessarily oppose, it just doesn't seem the most likely interpretation. The bit about a "different universe" sounds odd and weirdly unnecessary, though. Do you have a link to that interview at hand, by any chance? I feel like I may have missed out on some big new information!

最終話まで見ましたが、新規を増やすためのアニメではなかったですね。残念です。戦争の悲惨さを伝えたかったことだけは、よく伝わりました。金儲けのことばかり考えると心が汚れていきますが、全く考えないと、運営ができなくなります。自分の中では、このアニメでむしろ、引退を決めた人もいると思っています。現在のゲーム間の競争は大変厳しいです。資金難でのサ終だけはならないことを願います。

@@Jesselton_ 逆です。自分なりに艦これのことを考えています。艦これはイベントごとに難易度が、上がっています。最近追加された潜水空襲マスは最悪です。自分は古参提督ではありません。ただ、いくらガチ勢や、古参でも理不尽なことが続けばモチベは下がると思います。だから、数が必要なのです。ユーザー数が減ると、売り上げの維持のための負担はモチベの下がったガチ勢や古参の課金に行きますが、かなり厳しいでしょう。自分はアニメで新規を増やさないと艦これは終わるという強い危機感を持っていたので、厳しめに書きました。

Almost there! I'm glad Kancolle is back but considering how stacked with mastodont this fall season is, I highly doubt a lot of people will watch / talk about Kancolle. I hope I'm wrong though. In any case I will be one of those watchers!

kinda sad but not surprising if it only be watched by the "veteran" of the game or previous anime/movie by general even today's otaku not really into such genre anymore (sci-fi, military etc), now people prefer SoL Fantasy or Romance, cant blame them those were good genre

This anime was announced a lot of years ago. We have not seen a lot of trailers so I have some suspicious its development was hell. In this trailer you don't get to see the enemy fleet which strikes me as odd, I wonder if there are budget issues like last time and they're only showing the parts that look the best for now.

Moves, anime, games and so on that are highly fandom based are highly affected by what said fans think. In other words, if you personally believe only veterans will watch it, then a veteran you won't recommend it to anyone else. If you think there are budget issues, you will spend most of your watch time looking for errors or cost cutting. This type of thinking tends to become self-fulfilling prophecies. What I miss was the days when (English-based especially) fandoms were generally more positive thinking and were happy to get what they got. That didn't mean they settled for less, it meant made sure they appreciated 100% of what was there.

@@eldricelias5603 I noticed the lack of ennemy too. I hope it was to avoid spoilers. Since the anime focus on the Nishimura fleet I really wish the final boss are the twin abyssals version of Fuso and Yamashiro.

@@NACLGames Older fanbases used to settle for less I'd say. For better or worse people are more critical of the shows they consume at least in some internet circles. I don't think it is bad as long as the criticism has some thought to it and credit is given to the positive aspects. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar though, KanColle is not as big as it used to be in the west even if its still massive in Japan.
