I couldn't agree more!! i honestly wished that at some point on the end of the novel they had a proper talk like really a heart to heart talk because they both deserve an explanation from each other and like they could live there life peacefully and even though their relationship wouldn't be the same as before but the void in there heart would lessen somehow.

JC had every reason to hate WWX. Like it or not, while WWX's heart was in the right place, the way he did things was wrong. The problem of WWX is not what he did, it was how he did it, without thinking things through and not thinking about the consequences of his actions. Like it or not, he was not wrongfully accused of the Nightless City massacre.

I don't know but people seem to misinterpret JC a lot, but I have to say JC has never ever hated WWX, sure he was mad at him but that was it, really, JC is just a "barking dogs seldom bite" kind of guy, WWX is his only relative left along with Jin Ling, man could not hate WWX even if he wanted to.

@@nguyenthuyduong5867 Totally agree about JC. It is just that the novel is mostly from the perspective of WWX, so the reader drowns in his feelings and emotions, thus tends to ignore a lot of things and sticks to his side.

@@svetlanalvova1128 yep, love my boy wwx to bits but he was novel-canonically quite arrogant and full of himself. yes his heart was ultimately "good" but... he really didn't think things through enough. and yes, the nightless city, jzx and jyl death, that was all his doing, right state of mind or not. so yes jc really had every reason to blame wwx and be mad and even hate him

@@leahshum970 I couldn't agree more. I was totally on WWX's and JFM's side after I watched The Untamed. Once I started reading the novel, I had one jaw-dropping moment after another, resulting in my current exasperation and frustration with WWX, utter disgust with JFM (the worst character in the novel, as far as I am concerned),respect for YZY and fondness and respect for JC.

@@Mari-kj9xw Why? WWX already did with LWJ, it's all because of JGY. Then, there he went getting angry after all were cleared up showing his pure jealousy towards WWX in front of his parents' grave. Well, at least he told the truth at last that when everything's left, all he had inside him was jealousy, he couldn't cover with any other things anymore since the others were cleared. WWX didn't even fought back because he didn't want to make things worse and it was LWJ who got angry instead. JC got all the chances in front of the grave with WWX but instead he gave the chances to his nephew who's getting closer to WWX in the novel.

AND PLEASE JL forever will have JC as his no 1, JL approached wwx just to imply he was worried about JC who is busy leading TWO sects right now. WWX was arrogant and he displayed that arrogance more than once, if he turned towards JC instead of storming another sects banquet a lot would have changed. He threatened to kill everyone that arrogance got him killed. JC and lwj asked again and again if he could control his power all he said was yes or get angry. His mistake lies in his arrogance. hes not some uwu cinderalla hes a mass murderer and directly and indirectly killed JZX AND JYL.

"Great character" ah yes, a great character is an arrogant politically stupid abusive serial killer who gives off toxic ex vibes, has no qualms leading a siege against innocent civilians, a child and his 'brother', also homophobic and classist af, who people perceive as a "cute tsundere" because he is good looking. Truly, Jiang Cheng is a good character who totally had character development(he evolved...backwards)

U see even JC tried to understand him...but u can't always go all the way to understand can u really reason with everything what WWX did n all if anyone is in JC's position there is a limit to understand or follow whatever WWX was doing. Wwx did not kill his family and Jiang Cheng knew exactly why he left the clan… also the reason the Jiang clan became stronger was because wwx had become so popular before he left that newcomers were flooding in. So he definitely is a reason the clan is rebuilt. Wwx choosing to save innocent people and children over staying in the Jiang Clan and worrying about his reputation, is not a moral issue, it’s the entire point of the story. He isn’t wrong for protecting the wens and no one else would have helped him.

He was under a large amout of pressure trying to rebuild his sect that time, wanting to protect his sister and listen to degrading words from the other sects in the age of 17. Even if he stood up for Wuxian, it would only end up to damage what he wanted to achieve and he still doesnt have enough power to be able to protect him. Wuxian was also the one who broke up all his ties with Jiang Cheng.(Not that i blame him, given the situation they were in that time)

@@changmebilog8146 Ya exactly!! He was in a moment where other sects were eyeing on him to make mistake so that Jiang sect would perish...n also it was newly reformed sect. N to be honest if he tried to show more protection.... It would be troublesome to both sides rather than only JC side. It would lit more fire in ppl to perish the remaining Wen n WWX.

@@shadow.1843 If he had trust in his brother and didn't allow envy to control him, Jin Guangshit would have eventually backed off, after all, the reason Guangshit even 'pressured' Jiang Cheng was because he wanted to get Wei Wuxian's DC all to himself, acknowleding it as a threat. If Jiang Wanyin decided to ignore that and show his strong bond with his brother, everyone would have stopped, after all Wei Wuxian was a huge reason why they even won the war in the first place, making them fear his power and want to possess it.
