I realize this is a 4 year old video but I still would like to add a comment. The detail Mr. Burt demonstrates is very good. The construction of the jig is very straight forward and well described. His voice is a bit soft but I believe I understood everything he has to say. However I dearly hope Mr. Jensen's video camera skills have improved over time. The video is extremely jittery. Hand held camera work has to be very exacting to keep the viewer from litterly getting sick. This entire video could have been made with a single setup using a tripod for the camera. It never would need to be touched again. The shots would be rock solid. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂

That was great. I think that your jig is much better than the ones that have been made in 2023 or 2024.

Simple, practical and effective, well done to you Jim👍I agree that a runner in the table track would give a belt and braces job. Thanks for sharing.

Dear Jim, what a wonderful jig with so many possibilities, I think your idea of increasing the height of the backing strip and putting a guard for the saw blade is really good. Thank you so much for sharing. Regards Chris

Brilliant. Simple. Straightforward. It makes me want to build this sled. However, the safety violations were cringe.

Excellent Jig idea. The arm with the spring is a excellent idea. Can a FeatherBoard be used to do the same thing?

Use a runner to slide in the the bottom of your jig to ride in the track of your table saw

Although I got a lot out of the video, I could barely hear you. So I’m just guessing at a lot of things. In Fact I tried to switch to closed caption and it couldn’t understand either. LOL. I’ll be looking for more of your videos, hoping for better audio.

Absolutely, Using Jim's method the width of the material you start with will determine how large your star will be.
