1:58 the part where Carry pushes the girl out of the way, it was improvised. I once got to meet Chris Kattan after a standup show, I asked him about this specific scene in the skit and he gave me a nice 5 minute story how it was improvised by Carrey to push Cheri out of the way without him telling Chris or Will. After it was over, Katan and Ferrell were agreeing Carrey made that skit so much better than what was written.

@@patfrerking To an extent, Farley’s death also had something to do with wanting to be taken seriously. From Farley, he did want to always be known as “that fat guy that falls down”. I think his death had something to do with his self esteem… Anyways, the culture today wouldn’t have allowed comedy that Farley and Carrey did back then. You can already see many negative comments on Carrey’s old films (ex. Ace Ventura) from this generation screaming “sexist”.

@@0JUICEISL00SE .. Bro you calling Chris Kattan "the small guy" just completely invalidates your opinion lol
@JonHop14 жыл бұрын
@@0JUICEISL00SE bruh Chris Kattan is way better than Will in this sketch. Im not saying Will was bad at all, but Will was def kinda stiff and lacked the energy Jim and Chris brought to each scene. Its opinion, but its still clear as day.

If I did my research correctly, this particular episode of "The Roxbury Guys" recurring sketch originally aired on Saturday Night Live (SNL) on May 18, 1996 with Jim Carrey as the show's guest host. It marked the first time that Haddaway's hit song "What Is Love?" was used in the sketch, as well as the first time that the show's guest host (Carrey) was featured as the third member of "The Roxbury Guys". It was the 20th and final episode of Saturday Night Live (SNL) to air during the show's 21st season (406th episode overall since SNL's beginning in 1975).
