@Coyote No, he chose the darker projects to help process his depression. Same with the paintings. Being able to channel it in a productive way helps, because it gives a sense of purpose and an outlet for the guilt of hiding it from people. It meant he didn't have to feel like a fraud getting up and being the funnyman while he's miserable inside. That's why that 'phase' started when he was publicly blamed (and sued) for his exs suicide.

Everyone seems to forget after the 1993 WTC bombing the FDNY realised their radios were useless in the towers. Giuliani had 8 years to replace the radios he finally replaced the radios after a no-bid, $14 million contract from Motorola, those new radios weren't feild tested and in a week the radios were recalled after a firefighters mayday wasn't heard... And Giuliani reissued the old faulty radios that didn't work in the towers and then the FDNY rushed into the WTC on 9/11 with those old radios. Some of the skeletons in Giuliani 's closet sound like their humping heavy gear up hundreds of stairs to the hissing static of dead radios... Some wail like PASS alarms smothered under concrete dust.

Next time i'm there i'll check out the gallery and his works . My two favorites are the ELECTRIC JESUS and especially his SELF PORTRAIT ... i can relate to the latter because recently when we had some very heavy rains in the morning , i was out there barefooted and running around and loving every minute of it ... even with the Thunder , right up until a tree nearby got hit by lightning when i was standing in a deep puddle ... and finally ran indoors . ... i do WISH , though , that Jim Carrey would have his artwork made into POSTERS because there are far too many people who could never , in this lifetime , afford to buy ANY of his prints , let alone the originals . With so many people losing their homes , many having food anxiety as well as those who actually will NOT have ENOUGH to EAT ( and their CHILDREN , too ) , it would be a WONDERFUL , COMPASSIONATE SERVICE if he had his artwork made into posters for the PUBLIC at large . Has Jim Carrey opened up a SCHOOL of PAINTING AND FINE ARTS ... ? it's tough for many people , like myself to pay for all those supplies ... especially OILS / BRUSHES being so expensive ; let alone go to school for painting . If he hasn't already , perhaps someday soon HE WILL do so . This is why i am not painting , as there is about 12 cents in my bank account ... but do hope to be painting by Christmas time this year . Jim Carrey isn't crazy like everyone thinks. He's highly empathic and can feel everything in my opinion based off of how he acts and the change he went through a few years back. He's definitely experienced a higher perceptual form of reality.

The first time I watched a movie with Jim Carrey was The Mask, and I literally fell off the sofa from laughing so hard. That had never happened to me before, and hasn't happened since. Needless to say, it was love at first sight. He is an absolutely genius. His performance in Man on the Moon was beyond incredible. So glad to have him back in a movie. Hope he'll do many more. His gift must be shared. I do love his paintings and drawings as well though. He is very skilled.

Not that I would recommend the cesspool that is Twitter to anyone, but of the few bright spots that ghastly platform has, Jim Carrey's Twitter account is one bright spot to follow. His commentary is all in his artwork, and most, if not all of the paintings, carry a deep and profound message, once you look past the immediate jarring nature of some of them. Like many of us here in this comments section, I've been a fan of his since my early teens and I'm still a fan. There is a light in Jim, and I'm glad many others are seeing him not only for his comedic chops, but for his social responsibility. Thank you Jim for all you do. 💙

Jim Carrey is the best. And I'd like to be like him just because the way he always shows himself to people, as the happiest and funniest guy ever existed in the planet. No matter what he's going through, any kind of issue he is experiencing is turned into this genuinenly possitive vibes Jim spreads for us to just smile and have a good time with this unique guy. And he actually enjoys doing it. Jim is childish and mature at the same time, and manage his emosions wisely. Could be reckless sometimes when saying or doing sth not very appropiated, but that's part of his character with no filters what makes him be authentic. I wish the best to him, God bless Jim and everyone here.

I love his painting of a floating heart re-entering the atmosphere, it's very well done and colors are stunning. The meaning behind it it's very intense too.

Jim Carrey will forever be in my top 3 favorite celebrities. Always hoped to one day meet him, even in passing like those in the crowd there. Awesome guy, well in tune with what matters in life. Also, mangos are indeed a beacon of light!
