AEW, not to be outdone by the WWE seen that 2K games skipped a year in between 2k20 and 2k22 and decided it would be a brilliant marketing tactic by skipping every year.

How do you know it’s going to be bad? If people can play Wrestle empire and enjoy it and let’s be real as fun as it is, it’s not the best wrestling game ever,if AEW is like WWE smackdown, that game as primitive as it is by todays standards it’s still fun.

They arent rivals, AEW does not compete with WWE on any level. They literally both have a wrestling ring thats it thats the only thing they have in common.

To be fair, WWE games have been essentially cut & paste for at least 15 years. I mean I have HCTP for PS2 and it's not all that different from 2K23 aside from graphics and improved CAW.

The thing is WWE is not in charge of the video games and just grants a license to the producers to make the game using WWE IP (said producers have experience in making successful games along with decades of experience in gaming). AEW is letting a non video game developer, Kenny Omega, make decisions for a game that was going to have limit appeal in the first place because of the small fan base that they have. The amount of money AEW is going to loose on this game is an amount that Kenny Omega could not pay back in over 20 generations. At this rate the ECW video games series are going to be more of a financial success than AEW's game.

People going in are gonna be so disappointed. The gameplay looks nothing like the old AKI games. Graphically it somewhat does, but the gameplay is way too fast.

The gameplay looks exactly like a sped up 2023 version of all the n64 AKI games.

Technically AKI closed, turned into Mobile Game maker, SynSophia and the lead AKI designer for the N64 Wrestling Games retired. AEW/KENNY found him, hired him, and he taught the designers are THQNordic & Yukes, his ways ...of programming, designing, etc.

@@snowjorden Idk about that. It looks similar to all of Yukes wrestling games. I just do not see no mercy in this game besides the graphics. But the only way to truly know will be to play it. Either way what I’ve seen does not look good. Looks incredibly clunky, zipping in and out of animations. Needs a lot of polish.

@Chain God in terms of graphics and animation, Fight forever is far behind 2k23. I know graphics isn’t too important for hardcore gamers, but casual will always love better graphics.

The roster I remember was backdated maybe a year prior to coming out, where Christian was in a WWE Video game by the time the game came out.

The ultimate X match can be won in less than a minute & the roster consists mostly of made up wrestlers...

What killed the TNA game was everyone sharing the same 5 move sets.

Yeah its not that difícult to remove a character unless its a situation like you mentioned,i remember that smackdown here comes the pain(the game this aew game is trying to emulate) removed jeff hardy and Ultimate Warrior at almost last minute,so they removed them but their movesets were still in the game
