The legendary Dr Jerry Graham had to do a job for George. When the match was over George came over to the Doc to shake his hand. The Doc refused and told George "I hate your father" . I wrestled for Nick in 1973 when I first started in the business. He paid me $75 a week for a full schedule. Luckily, I had a stripper to live with, as I couldn't have afforded to pay rent and eat on Nick's payoff. Plus, we probably drove 1,000 miles a week. Luckily, Nick finally fired me for being overly obnoxious on TV, so I went to work for the opposition and made decent money without the all-day road trips.

I remember watching a low budget TV wrestling show where George was the announcer. He'd get ahead of the script on occasion. "He done grabbed him by the head of the hair." It didn't happen. Louder, he yells "I said, he grabbed him by the head of the hair." At that point, one of the wrestlers in the ring did indeed grab the other wrestler's hair.
