I know he wasn't the greatest worker but as a kid Big Daddy V really was a larger than life monster. There were rumors at my elementary school amongst the few wrestling fans in my class that he killed a dude by slamming his opponent on an ECW show (which came on at like 10 at night on school nights so I never watched it at the time). Rest in peace

Ohhhhhhhhhh. That would have been INSANE!! As over as Strike Force was in 1987 it would rival ME vs RRE in 1985! Also, Hart Foundation, The Rockers would have been INSANE. What about working against Demolition (Ax and Smash)? I think it would be a clash of styles but it could have been fun. Also, what about The Dream Team (Beefcake and Valentine)? Hmmmmm.

@@Mike19737 i thought the same thing about the Demos with the Midnights. Would have been a great match, no matter who was the heel team. This honestly made me start thinking about ANY team that they could have worked with. Midnights vs Von Erichs. I was even kind of sad that we didnt get even 1 match with the Colossal Connection with the Hart Foundation. Imagine that fun, Andre and Haku vs Stan and Bobby, with Heenan and Cornette at ringside. That was the fun of tag team wrestling. The clash in styles/characters.

Killer Bees never got a title run, true, but they were a legit team with a lot of quality wins. WWF was so rich with tag team depth during that era.

From what I understand, they were SUPPOSE to have a title run after their Survivor Series 87 win but evidently plans changed......which really bummed me out. I love the Killer Bees

I have a theory about that: It was because Remco put out a Jim Brunzell figure after Jim went from AWA to wwf. Vince tried to keep the money and Jim sued him.

My all time favorite toys when I was a kid were my Tough Talkin' Wrestlers. I got Sting and DDP first, grabbin Scott Steiner later. Funny enough, DDP was the first to suffer a serious injury, with both of his legs exploding below the knee. I still have Sting and Scott, and despite the demands of an ex I will never get rid of them.

Melting down the Undertaker’s urn and making a big chain out of it (aka the “remanents” of the urn) was one of the greatest things of the New Generation Era. (Edit: I mistakenly remembered it as being Mabel, but oh well, still amusing)

Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley never won the KOTR. Mick got to the finals against HHH in 1997 though. and I believe Shawn wrestled Kama to a draw in the 95 tournament. Also to add to the toy conversation here, I got the Iron Sheik tonight :)

Yeah, Jim was really grasping with that one. Mabel was only the 3rd King of the Ring winner on PPV. And that was before Austin and HHH.

Personally, I think Billy Gunn was the worst, because as bad as Mabel was, at least he got a run as the top heel in the WWF and a World title shot at Summerslam. Billy Gunn was always treated as an afterthought. No coronation, no top heel run, no title shot. The Rock verbally buried him and that was that. Now with that being said, even in 1995 Mable would be seen as the worst b/c Bret won in 1993 and Owen won in 1994 just one year earlier. With Bret and Owen winning it the two years before him and then Austin winning it in 96 and HHH winning it in 97, he would be considered the worst at that time.

Viscera was a cool gimmick. I dug the look and he seemed like he was a bit better. I've only heard about him being a reckless when he was there as Mable. There's no way you'd ever convince me to allow him to drop down on me. Taker was nuts for allowing that. The way he did it, there's no way the weight and speed and the short amount of drop time was gonna be able to be done safely.

Hart Foundation vs. Midnight Express, have been a dream match for me for years. Hart Foundation vs. Fantastics or Strike Force vs. Fantastics in a face vs face match, would also have been great matches. There were so many great tag teams in the mid and late 1980's both in WWF, NWA and AWA.

I will never forget the LJN Superstar figures. They couldn't be posed but they were so durable, just big rubber cudgels in the shape of human beings that you could bash and slam and use to recreate hard-hitting bouts of grappling. I once put an ad in the local paper to buy as many of those things as I could. Good times.

I didnt know they made wrestling figures that came with different heads and hands and gear. Just bought my nephew a Roman Reigns figure that came with multiple heads hands and gear. Would of loved that when i was a kid. Tnis Christmas he got a Macho King wrestling figure that was dope. Came with a crown and staff or sire.

I am glad that the flying/diving headbutt move died with Benoit. Harley always regretted inventing that move. Harley told Dynamite not to, but Dynamite refused to listen. Years later Dynamite told Benoit not to, but Benoit refused to listen. Maybe if Dynamite had listened to Harley and stopped doing this move, then maybe both he and the Benoit family would still be alive.

cant help but to wonder.......How King Mabel might have been at wwf champion, had he dethroned Diesel at Summerslam. And had Lex stayed, what was the plan. The LOOK of King Mabel as champion would have worked. Mabel couldnt work without hurting anyone though. I hate to say it, but well......I remember the Ministry beating his ass to initiate him into the group. I remember some of his Big Daddy V work. I remember that Diesel match, mainly him crashing down on Kevin's lower back full weight, ouch. And i remember He and Yoko doing legdrop after legdrop on Taker, injuring him on Raw. I also vaguely remember that M.O.M. had a bit of an undefeated streak going which earned them a tag title shot. I believe it was against the Headshrinkers i think......maybe Yoko and Owen. But the way they were being pushed was almost like they were going to put the belts on them. I remember the heel turn too, them throwing Oscar out the group lol. They were definitely something new. Especially Mabel.

I hated the Killer Bees and they always won, beat my favorites-- the Hart Foundation repeatedly, and then they never got the championship push. I don't know why anyone liked them, but they were popular and I honestly can't remember ever seeing them lose a match.

They should have just done Diesel vs. Yokozuna if Vince had to do Tall Guy vs. Fat Guy. Yoko was at least over, and could half ass (or massive ass) work. And it would have built to the match that happened at the next PPV anyway.

i 100 percent agree. But by 94-95, Yoko was just.....physically unstable. Still could work his ass off, but thats when the weight issues were beginning to get out of hand. With Mabel, or KING Mabel, that was just Vince seeing a project and trying to get it through. He almost did too. I always wonder........had Lex actually stayed in 95....given what happened at SummerSlam, what the plans were going forward for Diesel, Lex, Mo and Mabel, HBK, Bret, Bulldog. Because they were all somewhat intertwined.

I find it hilarious that mabel injured undertaker in 1995 and 4-years later in 1999 he'd join undertaker in the ministry of darkness anyone remember viscera and gangrel returned in 2004 during Undertaker's feud with JBL that was surprising that wwe would mention that all of them were apart of the ministry because usually wwe would make us forget that.

I heard in a shoot interview (God knows who it was, there are so many), that when Mabel wanted to come back during the attitude era, Vince McMahon was completely against it because he had injured so much of his top talent in 1995-1996. When Undertaker heard Mabel was trying to come back, he went to Vince and told him to give him another shot and that he should be put with him. That meant Mabel had a job to support his family again, and Taker didn't have to risk injury working with him as he was in the Ministry of Darkness lol.

Well 1st,men on a mission was over for a short time. Sorry cornette your a little off on part of ur take on that and Rap. Now Mabel was not a great wrestler along with his size he was just not safe. Yokozuna was big but was super safe and talented. Mabel in his later years was slightly better from what he was years before.
