I was at a show in connecticut where my brother was portraying a heel manager sort of character, and of course I directed as much derisive noise at him as possible. At some point, without giving me or apparently anyone else any advance notice he came over and smashed a plastic cup on my head and I acted like I had just gotten shot and slid out of the chair while mumbling "call the police!." Then the security tried to throw HIM out because they thought he was just assaulting random audience members. Supposedly I was even bleeding! Definitely the best part of the day.

A few years ago I was at a indie show at ringside w/a vip seat and during a tag team street fight outside of the ring one of the wrestlers pointed at me and said move, i ran off and looked back and watched as he took my chair bashed his opponent in the head 4 times sat it down and yelled: hey you can have your seat back. lmao

I remember being security at an Indie show where the wrestlers decided that brawling in the kids area would be a great idea. The parents were all like "if my son gets hurt I'mma sue your ass"

nothing makes me more angry than when wrestlers fight into the crowd. its a lawsuit waiting to happen if the fans come into the ring or ringside area, then they get what they deserve if they get their ass handed to them. but i beg wrestlers not to brawl into the crowd. brawl in the ring, at ringside, even in the aisleway, but not the crowd, that should be off limits.

I remember an incident at a local show where I used to live when some guy who was high as a kite invaded the ring during a match and one of the wrestlers literally grabbed him and threw him over the ropes like a sack of potatoes from roughly the middle of the ring, the idiot's foot got caught in the ropes and he ended up slamming his face into the ring apron so hard the he knocked himself out and shattered his face. That single moment bankrupted both the promoter and the wrestler.

@ThatTransMuffinOfficial

@@chitownace777 It would be easy to argue that the steps the wrestler took were excessive and led to unnecessary bodily harm. Also it's possible that they could have argued that it wasn't the wrestler's place to take such steps especially if there was some form of security. And lastly, like Jim mentioned, a lot of judges are more likely to be on the side of the idiot storming the ring.

I went to a local show in 2007. Two fans front row start beating up one of the wrestlers who roll to the outside. Two other fans and the ring announcer bounce the two out of the place. Also this was during a an ROH style Pure Match.

Dirtnation2 lol. I was at wrestling once by myself and a guy was their with his son. He smelled of whiskey and the wrestler did the standard "promo" and the town was heavily Portuguese and Mr. Whisky was trying to hop the rail for saying stuff about his son and his son's mom! I was like don't do it dude!

I'd been wondering about that with current day ROH. They have a spot almost every week on TV where they launch a guy into the middle of a railing section, and of course, if moves right into the fans' knees and shins. That has to hurt like hell, and I'm surprised it hasn't broken legs.
@hazardousmatter2

Kind of a funny story but i was at a local indie show a few years ago and me and my Dad were on front row at the middle of the rail. A heel guy flew over the top trying to hit the babyface but the babyface moved out of the way and the heel hit the rail with his back. The rail was supposed to move but my Dad had his legs on the bottom of the rail and it didnt move an inch. The heel shook it off but looked directly up at us going "What the hell?" My Dad can move his legs but can't feel them normally. He absorbed almost all of this 140-150 lb heel's dive.

I think the last time and pro wrestling that fan scared enough and believes enough to jump the rails and hit the railing to go after the heel was the Monday Night War era. I can remember several times in WCW That WCW fans would storm the ring to get at the NWO guys. Hell a lot of times WCW fans we’re getting into fistfights with NWO fans. I was a huge NWO fan and my mom drove a school bus for the county that she had parked outside our house. The night after WCW fall brawl wargames 1997 some diehard 4 Horsemen fans spray painted “fuck you nwo “ on my mom’s bus. I really miss the 80s and 90s. Today’s fans really aren’t into it like we were. We actually really loved someone in the ring or really hated somebody in the ring. Today it’s the fans going there so they can take over a show and it’s all about the fancy instead of the show.

I don't know how more accidents with fans didn't happen at the Sportatorium in Dallas with World Class. Fritz Von Erich was a lawsuit fixin to happen by only having DENTAL FLOSS surrounding ringside to protect fans from wrestlers because he was too cheap to get real steel barricades to do the job! Even Mid South up the road had barricades--at least Bill Watts had enough legal sense to realise that was a liability and was willing to spare that expense to keep fans and wrestlers safe

Old wrestling, I get the appeal, but it had the dumbest fucking fans. You're on parole and you're willing to lose it because of a fake fight? You never deserved it to begin with, and if you thought it was real, same thing. I don't care what Cornette says, WWF's "cartoon wrestling" from the 80s on & most of the brief time WCW was in existence were the best for wrestling. The only problem with it nowadays are the joke wrestlers and all the dorky, nerdy losers known as smarks.

One thing on wrestling I disagree with Jim on is how many actual marks there were in the old days. When I was a little kid, and I mean 7 years old, none of my friends thought wrestling was real. And this was pre-internet pre-shoot interview pre-sports entertainment era. Back thirty years ago old people liked pro wrestling. My grandmother loved wrestling and she knew it was a work.
