From "The Office": an American television mockumentary sitcom broadcast on NBC. From a similar comedy, I'd say that Ben Wyatt Loves Leslie so much he sacrifices his career for her more than once. Jim and Ben are 2 of the most Romantic characters ever. I'd also have to agree with the Fry comment as well ❤❤❤

The way the writers developed this relationship was ingenious. Once they were together, instead of constantly breaking them up and getting them back together like almost every show before them, they played on those tropes and then quickly resolved them every time. So you would think they might break up, but they would always stay together. A truly unique approach to keep things interesting but not jump the shark. Probably my favorite tv relationship (until Jake and Amy).

Better to keep those standards, and be alone, than lower them and be miserable. I walked away from my soulmate because the other guy was going to give her the better life. And he did, ran into her a few years back after about 15 years had passed and she asked me if I regret that decision. She let me know that she still felt the same after all these years but being an honorable man, I walked away again.

Yh! He WAS the character so understood from his perspective that them being with anyone else’s was crazy. They’d created the best couple so it wouldn’t make sense to change that for the sake of a new plot line!!!

the part that made me cry the most is after their real wedding on the boat and pam looks so at ease resting her head on jim's shoulder, they both finally found peace together and that's what made me lose it

One moment I like is when Nellie and Pam are in the car together and Nellie asks about the possibility of Jim having an affair. Pam instead smiles and says “Jim will never do that to me. He loves me to much.” I think that was very accurate and true to Jim’s character.

Each character had their own goals and things they valued most. In the last season Jim wanted to take a shot at a new career, but most of the show he's not a career driven person. He finds happiness with Pam and his kids. It's good finally seeing a man with this personality, 99% of the time it's women.

I think a lot of men have this trait honestly. When they go for a new job they don't break down WHY they go for it. If it's more money, why do they want/ need more money? To support their family. Less responsibility? A better home/ work balance. I think Jim is just fleshed out so we understand his actual motives instead of them being alluded to. I hope that made sense lol

Jim Halpert has always reminded me of my older brother. He’s tall and always goofy and funny. Most of the time he comes off as chill and nonchalant. But he’s the most caring person I know. He’ll randomly text me encouragement when I need it. He’ll be silent for months (he’s in the military and doesn’t live close and is always always busy) but then sometimes he just texts me something to make me smile. He writes love notes for his fiancée on their fridge in expo markers, and he’ll do ANYTHING for his family. Such an amazing brother and family man.

What Pam said at the end really hurts having parents divorced. And I disagree with her. You can never know if your parents are soul mates. There is not such thing as soul mates. There is only a lot of work for the relationship until you die. During my childhood my parents were a team and they loved each other a lot. There were moments when they had fights but most of the time they were a team. And going to adulthood things started to get worse. More than that apparently my father told my mother he cheated her when she was pregnant with my older brother. It's sad things got that bad. Except one of my brothers nobody talks with him (he made sure to burn any bridges between him and us). Another sad thing is that my younger sister never experienced the love we, her older brothers, experienced between my parents.

I always thought that I would be looking for the Jim of my life, when in reality I was more like him than I thought all along. I'm the most romantic person I know and do the same things he does for the people he loves. Is it cheesy? Maybe. But it's true.
