Many thanks for the wonderful memories of Jim Reeves, he has an unforgetable voice, I have always loved his music, thank you in memory of a beautiful talented man who brought goodnes to the world in his music. Back in the 50's my dad employed an aboriginal young man on our property he often came into our big kitchen with his guitar and sang some Jim Reeves songs while dinner was cooking. i was still at school but always loved the music, it was probably my first introduction to Jim Reeves and Johnny Cash Loved their music from then onwards. Greetings from Australia. Thanks again for the memories by showing his music that will always be loved.

What a performance! Simply outstanding. Those less-than-musical souls who have given a thumbs down, should hope for Mother Earth to swallow them up in shame, they dont deserve to hear genius at work.

This was at the Town Hall Party, located in the Town Hall Party bldg, 400 Long Beach Blvd. Compton, Ca., near Long Beach. This show first ran starting in 1951. I lived in Long Beach at the time, heard it many times, passed by it many times. Was a ballroom and would accomadate 3000 people.

@Tulsas This is from the "Town Hall Party" local TV show from Los Angeles, California. Our eternal thanks go out to the people who had the foresight to make a kinescope of this performance by Jim Reeves. This episode of "Town Hall Party", and others featuring the several appearances of Johnny Cash, are out on home video. Reeve's appearance on "Town Hall Party" is the only known video evidence of how he looked and sounded in a live concert setting. He did a FANTASTIC performance!!!

Hi LaptopLarry330 - not sure my folks would have christened me that but there you go....(!!!!!!!!). Seriously though, buddy, absolutely great of you to post this of Jim - one I have certainly not seen before. I can remember around 20 years ago when footage like this was just non existent. Now the internet, love it or hate it, has certainly given us examples of Jim's performances in his life time. Cheers my friend and thanks for "posting" this (or whatever they call it...!!!)
