Cole doesn't suck. Cole under Vinces restraints sucks. Go back on the network and watch any show where Vince isn't in Coles ear, and suddenly Cole instantly becomes 1000% better. The problem is, Vince IS in Cole's ear 98% of the time.

Lol Taz and Cole were never "competition" for JR and the King, at least from this fan's perspective. Heel Cole on Raw damn near ruined WWE for me. That was "go away" heat, not "heel heat".

Funny, I can't even count the times I muted my TV because I couldn't take Lawler's idiotic "dirty old man" schtick and inane jokes that were always at least fifteen years past their expiration date. Taz was alright, although I can't come up with a single memorable thing he ever said on the air, to be honest. Cole just sucks. He was okay for the fifteen minutes or so when he escaped VinnyMac's clutches in the UK, but other than that, he's just bad. The commentary was one of the reasons I stopped watching WWE's weekly shows and only paid attention to the PPVs. Then I stopped watching altogether for several years. Who could possibly give a damn about WWE in the 2010s?

Cole will only get the credit he deserves once he retires, that WWE heel run was so polarizing that it completely destroyed any reputation Cole had up until that point, he'll forever be remembered as that character and nitpicked for it, I'm not saying he was perfect or anything because he wasn't, there's a compilation of Cole botches on KZfaq for a reason, but I do believe that he did the best he could with the material he was given, because he used to be decent back when he was given good material and had a good partner to bounce off of.
