Jim Ross hands down the greatest commentator of matches ever period. The emotions and one liners, his ability to call things just as fast as they happened are legendary. Missed are the days of JR and King. Between the two of them I've had some of the greatest laughs and enjoyable matches on televised wrestling. The bottom line is it comes down to Vince’s egomania. In Vince’s mind, the success of WWE is a complete result of his own genius. In fact, the success of the greatest era in wrestling history (Attitude Era/Monday Night War) had more to do with JR than Vince. Without the voices of the era, JR and King, and without JRs booking and management during that time, the era simply isn’t the same. Deep down Vince realizes that and it drives his ego crazy, therefore he must belittle and betray JR to make himself feel like a bigger man. Hold your head high JR, Vince will always be beneath you!

He's not out for his personal checks, he's not out for his ego, he's not out there to put someone down (though he will set the record straight, as done in this video), He's out here to create a good show by putting his part. I will never forget the commentary when ol Stone Cold poured a cement truck into Vince’s “car.” I stopped watching in 2003 when everything starting getting weird and not what I was used. JR asked the question whether Vince was being sincere ... and Vince cited that he sent his son-in-law over to Smackdown to change his life around. Correct me if I'm wrong, didn't Triple H get moved back to Raw the very next week? That pretty much proves his theory correct in that it was a rib on Ross.

JR said "Let's get a reaction out of JR. Funnier than Hell. He's gonna hate this and we're gonna love it". WWE have to make their "outgoing" talent look like the shits. That's what's wrong with the WWE and the nepotism that resides there. Vince Sr. never worked that way. In the old days the promoters used to help you get a job, a phonecall for you to be used in another territory. Now it's "I hope he's bankrupt and homeless, makes us look good." Vince Sr. from all I've heard is he was a good, fair and middle of the road man. Vince Jr. is a little rich spoiled brat. Ego through the roof.

Usually when you are given the “team player” speech by higher ups it means they thought you were the person that would pick up anyone slack. Do the work of more then just your position and NOT complain or expect more pay or such. Basically you were their problem solver and they expected you’d shut up, keep your head down, and do what your told. The minute you are not that figure, there’s a problem, and it’s always you. Never them or the “team”. Or the way things are ran.

it never ceases to amaze me how WWE treats fan favorite performers, and people who i consider legends. People who have given so much of themselves to try and make WWE shows the best they can be, but Vince always focuses on reasons to doubt, shame, persecute, retaliate, or admonish those who get close to him. It makes him, in a lot of way, the worst person to be in the position he has because it makes him so easy to manipulate and play against others, making it such a cut throat political environment. I don't know how JR stuck it out as long as he did.

Vince may be a lot of things, but I can't blame him for Montreal. Bret should've been a professional. Vince had lost trust business-wise because of Medusa, and how she dropped the WWE Women's title in the trash on TV. I wouldn't have, in ANY case, allowed my top champion to go there still having the belt. Secondly, Vince wanted to build HBK just as Vince built Bret once upon a time. You can't be a wrestler, and then just refuse to do the job. Vince gave Bret the chance. You could say Bret would've flourished anywhere, but that's speculation. Vince DID make Bret the star he was. Bret should've been a professional, and agreed to the plan. Vince surely shouldn't have let his promotion's top prize be with someone who was not only leaving but would've been under contract with WCW the next night. This drops down to the "Boys being boys" mentality in wrestling. It was a toxic masculinity-filled environment, and Bret felt justified in taking a stand. But business is and should've been the top priority.

Anant Bhasin yeah. Montreal was all Brett. He didn’t want to be professional. He didn’t want to lose in Canada? It’s not his belt. It isn’t real. You drop the belt when told to. It’s that simple.
