This becomes even more heartbreaking when you realize Dave Goelz is the only one here who is still working with the Muppets.

Just yesterday I saw The Muppet Movie in theaters for the 45th anniversary. It's a movie I've seen dozens of times, even in theaters once already for the 40th anniversary 5 years prior. It's one of my favorite movies of all time and holds so much importance to me. I don't know why, but when Gonzo started singing this song I just started crying. Rest well Jim, Richard, and Jerry. You've brought joy, laughter, and even sometimes sadness to many generations before and many to come.

I remember the 1st time I saw Muppets From Space, Gonzo looking at the stars on another beach I could hear "I'm going to go back there someday" and felt like it would have been very fitting in the moment.

lol I just watched that Defunctland doc on the Muppet Show too. They talked about the Movie too which is what got me looking for it. Imagine being at this memorial service and hearing this. Imagine him having to sing it. I would've lost it. I am tearing up right now.

I love this song. I know "Rainbow Connection" is supposed to be the great emotional Muppets song, and it's a great song, but this song is just as touching to me. I wish Jim Henson was still alive.

Rest in Peace. ❤️ We're flyin not walkin on featherless wings. We can hold onto love like invisible strings. Is that a song there... And do I belong there? 😢 I'm going to go back there someday. 😭😇

Some people lost their childhood wonder, and can't seem to find it again. That's why I'm glad to still be watching the muppets, at 17 I still get excited when I hear the fraggle rock theme. Henson truly gave the world something special
@genEricSVG2 жыл бұрын
@@evanprince3875 very well said ... I'm 47yo now , as a kid I watched the Muppet Movie on VHS so many times I knew all the words (and I still know the bulk of them lol ) These songs are a bridge between my childhood and me today ... who knows where life is going to lead me "life's like a movie - write your own ending"
@evanprince38752 жыл бұрын
@@genEricSVG I wasn't fortunate enough to grow up with a lot of Henson's media. I had an older brother and didn't watch much tv so all the shows I remember were his action ones. But I remember the little bits of my childhood where I did get that. I watched fraggle rock most and had a few of the muppet comics, got into most of the other stuff in my early teens. Somehow I still feel like a kid who was raised by the muppets... that's the magic of it all.

I know this is supposed to be a sad song, but somehow, I think this song should be advertised in a Disney Parks commercial, you know, as a way of encouraging those who visited Disneyland or Walt Disney World at least once in their lives to plan another visit to re-experience old memories, or even get acquainted with new content Disney adds.
