The Smother's Brothers Show from the 1960's was blessed with an abundance of comedic and musical talent with Steve Martin, Mason Williams (Composer of "Classical Gas") and Jim Stafford.

It still surprises me that Jim Stafford, "Lobo", and Gram Parsons played in the same group. At a Winter Haven (area) teen center that GP's *step*-father bought so GP would have a convenient place to play. What are the odds of that?

Its a good one! Tommy Emmanuel knocks this song out of the park as well but, like Jim Stafford, he sometimes adds a comedic element to it. Tommy may be paying homage to Stafford in his live performances. Jim Stafford was as much a comedian as he was anything else so his music was often not taken as seriously; probably because he so often added a comedic element to it. To say he wasn't well known just isn't true, however. I grew up listening to Stafford.
